Conan created this professional image of being a bit of a bully to his employees and has always played up the humor of that (and we all loved it!), but to hear Sona sincerely talk about what a great boss he is was really nice! The fact that he has so many employees who have stuck around for decades is really a testament to him!

Yeah I think there was a general understanding between the audience and the crew that it was for show c: Conan bringing the vast majority of his crew when he moved to TBS is the mark of someone who really respects his employees

That's part of Conan's legacy. It's the fact that some people have stuck with him from the very beginning, and that so many others have stuck with him for 25+ years. There has to be a good reason for that, and it likely has to do with Conan being a genuinely good person and boss.

It’s because he’s stripped away people’s opportunities and made them work for him forever. Of course I’m joking as plenty of talented people who worked at Conan’s show became hugely successful later on.

Especially in show business. I work for people only. I've left my job several times due to my upper management and went through the thick and thin with what I like. I quit my job as an assistant manager due to this. She was horrible. I was like Sona.

She ought to love him. She has probably made a lot more money than any typical Production Assistant based on her on-screen time with Conan, and this is because Conan is such a creative and innovative guy who could see the entertainment potential in the back and forth between him and his staff. We all benefit in fact.

To me, Conan's legacy isn't so much the bits, but it's the people he's influenced. From his staff, to the comics he's had on the show, to everyday idiots like me who wouldn't have survived teenage-hood without his self deprecation and lessons on how to be funny. Conan saved my life, in a very real way, and I hope he understands that his legacy is one that has truly saved people.

I'm 35, I've been watching Conan since I was 9. Always had a hard time sleeping and just happened to find this strange man with "Orange" hair being silly at night and it became a comfort. Something funny/happy/surreal before falling asleep. "Conan" was there all the nights, from personal moves across the country, through divorce, through births and deaths in my life. Could always rely on Conan to give me a laugh/smile, especially on days where I didn't have much to smile about. Always got love for "Coco" and happy to see his next endeavors.

The emotion from Sona at 7:26 and the following seconds as she starts to describe what it has been like working for Conan is palpable. And no-one deserves that like Conan does. I've always enjoyed him moreso than all the other hosts (close second is Craig Ferguson) and from all these clips and from the podcast I finally know why. Conan really cares, he is genuine, he wants people around him to thrive, he has a crazy respectable work ethic and he never makes it about himself, except for comedy sake. Conan and his employees have created something admirable and what a lot more of us ought to aspire to. I'm rambling a bit, but who cares. I love Conan and his relationship with Sona, Bley, Matt, etc.

I like your show, but I'm not watching all of them (as I'm not in the US), but I've never missed an episode of your podcast. In fact, I listen to some over and over again. Love you Conan, the funniest guy on this planet!

Podcasts seem like Conan's side-calling. Like, if he wasn't built for TV, his humor and voice would have been built for radio/podcasts.

When I was a teenager, I had a little portable B&W TV in my room that I would watch SNL, Conan and the Dana Carvey show on late at night. That was pretty much my "rebellion". Sometimes my parents would let me stay up to watch Letterman, but the Worldwide Pants logo was lights out time... so I would run upstairs and plug in the headphones to watch Conan. Thank you for over 3 decades of fantastic comedy! Cant wait to see the next iteration!

Conan’s “ego” is that he wants to be funny. Many other comics care more about being known as being funny, than actually being funny. This is why Conan is so unique, special, and beloved.

A large part of Conan's legacy is as the true successor to Letterman, just as Letter man was the true successor to Carson. The person who takes over the show name and time slot on each channel doesn't matter.
