In this video I explain what cables with concentrated loads are as well as how to solve for unknowns related to them such as sag, tension and reaction forces. Using the Method of Sections and the Method of Joints we can solve for these unknows. Equilibrium equations such as the sum of the forces in the X and Y directions as well as the sum of the moments help us solve for internal tension forces in the cable.
