This might have been one of the better recent art podcast I've heard, keep it up Also my question is: What is the best way to really get good at understanding structure and perspective? for scenes, objects and characters
@Janos.Artzone2 жыл бұрын
Hm I think there are different approaches to. You could try to draw out what you have in mind and when you hit a roadblock, using 3D like blender to build a rough mock up for it. Then playing with the camera and looking for what you maybe missed.

Thank you so much for these kind of videos! That was really helpful and interesting. One question I have in mind is, as a freelance in a country where there's almost no industry, where woud you start looking for junior concept artist work? Would that be an active process of portfolio submission maybe on Artstation (or other places?) job offerings? Or would that be more of a "try to get noticed and wait for the call" kind of thing.
@Janos.Artzone2 жыл бұрын
From my personal experience direct email approaching for job openings works best, but you never know if these artstation openings works. I guess when you have a strong portfolio you will get noticed 🙂

Sorry I'm a noob, but why is Vader scary in terms of design? Referring to the bit at 30:53
@Janos.Artzone7 ай бұрын
Vader is visually the equivalent to a dark knight. So all black with red light saber. dark value with a signal Color. Then if u go deeper and look at his mask it looked like a skull. When u then add the way he talks and acts u have a very scary result 😊

sorry can i ask you do you think that the size (17 inch) for screen display tablet is prohibitive for a professional concept artist? (I intend to give it as a gift to a friend who is a professional) the product we are referring to is the wacom cintiq pro 17
@Janos.Artzone9 ай бұрын
Hey sure :) So the Cintiq pro 17 ( amzn.to/3G802jI ) is definitly a solid device. Depending on how advance the person is. What I personally dont like some of them get warm if you work long hours + the arm and elbow position is not very healthy, considering sitting at it MO - FR for 8 hours a day. I personally learned and prefer still today a pad like the Intous Pro (amzn.to/46oKS4u) This is also a device you find in many studios. Its not always the case that they have cintiqes. Hope that helps :)
