Thank you sir this is one of the best lectures I have seen on this topic. I have searched many places for an explanation of this but this is the one where I understood because you explained using so many examples and each point was elaborated. Thank you again. This is of big help.

Dear sir @5:28 in free vibrations you applied d alemberts principle for that, why dont we apply that here ? shouldn't we consider acceleration here ? how to know when to consider and not to consider acceleration clarify sir plzz

Sir, In newtons method, you have stretched at some distance x , so you told the force act on the mass by spring is -kx. But, In energy approach, you virtually stretched some infinitesimally small distance ∆r , it could be, the force by spring, -k ∆r. How it could -kx. This is my doubt, i don't know, it may be a totally wrong question....
@ashishpurohit9138
@ashishpurohit9138 3 жыл бұрын
Hello and sorry for replying late, When we are doing energy approach, we actually disturbing our system from its equilibrium state, means at this moment, the spring is stretched. So if you give del_r displacement actually the spring is now having a total change in length is (x+del_r), but as del_r is infinitesimal small so we assume the spring force still kx and then we say the work done by spring force is k.x.del_r. if still I could not answer your query, let me know I will try to explain it in other way.
