The two most beautiful and unique planes ever made, the Concorde and the Blackbird, were both created in the 60's. Both were WAY ahead of it's time! The 60's decade was INCREDIBLE for aviation!

My uncle has a flat in Fulham, that is on the flight path of planes coming in. When i was younger (quite a bit younger !) i used to stay up there for a week during the holidays. You would know when concorde was coming over, the noise was incredible. He used to shout " Concorde!" and i would run out on to the back balcony to see it approach, then though and out onto the front balcony to watch it fly past and off to the airport...good memories!!

Source for that? I just remember how the USA tried to kill this plane back in the time it was new. Europa and Russia, both got this kind of planes only the USA failed to build one so they tried to kill it with dump politics like every time.

I remember concorde flying towards heathrow every Sunday afternoon, and rushing outside to see it but was always deceived by the noise it made and always getting my timing wrong, has it had already passed!. Such an iconic plane and an awe to see in flight - Like a giant Swan of the skys, which was always unrivaled and just left you in amazement!. Probably the 'only' plane noise that I ever looked forward to hearing.

Why do we have to be so immersed in the regulations of Health and Safety. Why is Britain now such a tremendously weak and feeble country when we are steeped in years of glorious and victorious history? We have it in us to achieve such wonderful things but a liberal society prevents all great accomplishments.

A product of the age of ultimate optimism, where we felt anything and everything was within our reach. Heartbreakingly beautiful design and a Goddess of the sky. Great Britain and France deserve to be proud of their creation. Flew on her once, arrived before the time I left lol. This is the future we have been robbed of. If our civilization fails and we enter another dark age, I hope her legend will be passed on in stories and tales of old
