Thank you very much. I have this same Hilti and it needs an overhaul. I have used Hiltis over 50 yrs and have always wondered why it is so effective and now I know it. The piston system is real mechanical marvel. But why didn't you use oil at all when putting it back. You should always use tiny amount of oil to prevent wearing.

Great work my friend! Hilti makes some great tools, and you brought this one back to life!! I just restored an old electric hammer from the 1930's, but also showed and demonstrated newer ones... Do you mind if I include a link to your video in my restoration video description? Hopefully it'll bring more views to your video, and people can see a newer concrete hammer being restored!

Some times with "plastic" cased tools like this, you can use a heat gun to heat up the plastic to bring back the color and remove any brushed/scoffed areas. Don't know if that type case would work with that option, but could try and see. Thumbs Up!

Great resto ! Just never forget these tools need lots of oil and grease ! 35cc of oil in the gear box and lots of high temp gear grease on the other moving parts. The right type of oil and grease is crucial since these types of drills are under a great deal of stress and can get very hot. I have used Hiltis for years. I know them well.

Hey this was an easy disassably, washinga und assembling the tool. You used no new sparaparts. Minimum, all the o-rings and the brake (3pcs) have to be replaced. The clutch has to be messured and replaced otherwise you will get a capital defect in the gear afterwards ( in the next 14 days at the construction site) You won't be able to drill tiles in the bathroom because you will always have the beat from the percussion piston. I repaired this tool in germany about 7 years at the HILTI repaircenter in Bebra. We would be fired if we would repair this tool in this way you did. :-)

Does that oil grease the gears. Such a compicated drill. Seams a drill like this could be simplified with less parts. Like what engineer thought of this. This needs a spring here and shaft here a sleeve here a pin here an O ring here. Another pin a ball bearing. So many parts for drill.

It kind of hurts to see you reassembling this nice machine without any grease on the metal parts, without new bearings and o-rings and without heating the housing of the bearings to get them in without force or with the corroded cable shoes of the old brushes…. the look of the machine after restoration is very good but it's probybly unusable like this or would work only a short time... it could be a perfect restoration but in this way it only Looks good :(

Looks to me that good part of mechanism using that oil for lubrication. So, actually he did right job not putting grease on those parts. Only quick release mechanism lacking grease.
