Thank you very much Derek, please can you do some faults on condensing boilers and if possible system boilers too. I done training with baxi and only now my eyes slightly opened. Your teaching skills are second to none. I am not English native and you helping a lot. We appreciate your time and effort. Please ignore so called pro engineers who criticize your hard work. They watching you always to improve skills!!! Thank you.

Excellent 3 part video Derek m8! Coming into breakdowns now myself. Got good idea for vids. Ya cud do scenarios with different of faults...have a collegue or even yourself as a customer giving details (ya cud dress up & edit lol). Then go through fault finding start to finish to fix the problem...ie no heating/no hot water! Multimeter ect the works. Recon be entertaining as well as helpful/informative! 👍

i loosely get how this boiler works, what I want to know from your point of view is, why does our boiler throw out water? We have a combi boiler that has a condenser inside which is attached to a tank at the bottom, it has had to be modulated like this because it is in the centre of the house with a flue in the roof and not on an outside wall. From what the Gas man has said, the boiler fills with water to a reservoir inside the boiler, and then when it gets to a level, it triggers a point level that then spews the water out of an outlet pipe. But it does it constantly and he believes it is supposed to. It makes a massive rumbling noise like someone's just hit it with a truck and then it purges water out across the flooring of the attic and outside at high speed and under alot of pressure. This particular one we have does not vent out the outlet pipe at the back as others do, but purges out of the soffit in the attic roof at the front. From his lack of interest and investigation - 3rd time today, we are suffering from what I see as a boiler that isn't working properly, is using an excessive amount of water and the heating is coming out fine in the radiators, I am just somewhat concerned about the amount of water and its not vapour water, its physical water that is coming out. It regurgitates water every day every 4-5 hours. It sounds like it isn't regulated properly and the northern gas man won't have any of it, especially when speaking to a woman.

Very interesting to see what all the whirring, clicking and whooshing actually is! As we say in Yorkshire "well I'll be buggered!" 😁

Superb videos as always Derek I learn so much from our videos I noticed on the gas chat forum there seems to be a lot of confused gas engineers posting short videos of boilers making strange noises. Is there a fast track system for locating strange noises? ( hint for a video ???? ) . I have a stethoscope but am new to the gas industry so haven't used it yet

Great video. Was looking forward to this one. So this boiler goes into purge twice does it? Once near the beginning of the sequence and once at the very end when it goes into pump overrun for around 30 seconds? Thanks Derek 👍🏻 Asian Jon. Training.

Hi Derek so question, with a system boiler it's just the three way valve that's eliminated from the check process. So the call for heat by temp is not a factor for the system to ramp up the burner to better achieve the required house temp over a shorter time. Kind regards Dave Porter.
@tomkatgastraining2 жыл бұрын
The zone valves are there to isolate a zone when up to temperature that’s their only job 👍🏻

Can’t get my head around why the diverter would have a mid position if it’s a Combi it can only give you ether hot water or heating, it can’t do both.
@tomkatgastraining2 жыл бұрын
Some manufacturers allow the diverter valve to go into mid position to help fill the boilers so no pockets of air gets trapped in the heat exchanger
