I have a rule in my shop that if it takes longer to find something my shop is to disorganized. So I stop and clean up and put things where they go. Taking time to put things back where they belong when you are done with them takes way less time.

Helpful suggestion here from personal experience. Look into how much hydraulic volume that hoist on your dump trailer requires and verify that your tractor has an adequate capacity. I’m a farmer myself, in Illinois. We bought one of those “pups”, the dump trailers that they pull behind the dump trucks. We just got it to use around the farm behind the tractor, using the tractor hydraulics. It lifts it great. The problem is that the triple stage cylinder requires all the fluid that the tractor holds. So you get it lifted, and then the tractor won’t move because there’s nothing left in the hydraulic system with that also runs the transmission 😂. Needless to say, we haven’t gotten much use out of that purchase. I think the only way we are going to be able to use it is to give it it’s own hydraulic system with it’s own hydraulic reservoir. If you have a scissor hoist under that dump bed, you are probably ok. But if that has a multi stage straight cylinder hoist of any sort, you might want to do some calculations on how many gallons it takes to lift it and check how much capacity your tractors have.

If you want to protect the tractors until 'full sandblast and painting' day ... mix up linseed oil and thinner 1:3 to wipe on with a cloth. One or two thin coats will shine up the patina and help the metal last until that big paint day. Super inexpensive and easy, lasts a year on equipment stored outside or longer if shed-bound. I got the recipe from Vice Grip Garage channel and it works.

I don’t focus so much on what you’re doing because you’re usually out of frame. In situations such as this, I still listen to what you say, which usually makes perfect sense. 😉

So the chain pulls the wood to the spikes on cutting side of the bar. And the chain thing the easiest is a to avoid that from happening keep it on the bar or hang it on a old nail in your shed

Rotted rims, flat tires, and a partridge in a pear tree pooping. You haven't bought a farm with some acreage yet?
@billwoehl3051

People complaining about the new tires on equipment that don't run probably never get outside and actually fix things, just let it sit and rust away. Something that you don't do, when you get a spare moment, you actually try fixing things. New tires aren't for all the couch potatoes out there.

This is the US way of thinking - I don't have a screwdriver, there is no alternative, I need to buy one, immediately. Personally, I would rather spend 10 minutes crafting it from a nail rather than standing 5 idle minutes in a store and paying 2 dollars for it.
