Thanks, I'd love to do a Power Ren guide. Oddly enough I find that one much more complicated than Condi Alac Ren. The rotation changes quite a bit depending on when your Orders From Above comes off cooldown. In most cases when dealing with rotations, the order in which you use skills comes down to the combination of how much damage it does and how low it's cooldown is. From memory you basically divide a skill's total damage by its cooldown which creates somewhat of a 'priority list' for skills. You then work your way down that list and adjust it a bit to make it more usable and that's how most rotations are made (at a super high level). There are some benevolent data crunchers that do that for us though... Praise Joko.

You're welcome! Glad you found the video helpful. Totally feel your pain about the huge ping. Lowest I can get is 210 and we just have to live with it. Once you get a feel for the timings on the skills you can work around it though.

I love raiding on Condi Renegade. That simple smooth rotation just feels so nice to pull off. Having an amazing ranged option is nice for that DPS uptime as well.

I find with the raid rotation for Condi Alacrity Renegade (which is designed for longer fights), it takes a while for your damage to ramp up. So if you try and apply it to things like open world or fractals it can feel like your dps is a lot lower. Especially compared to something like Power Quickness Herald which has much faster burst. It also has a much stricter rotation for energy management than Quickness Herald does. If you need any pointers on the rotation feel free to drop a question in my Discord. Always happy to help.

I love Celestial Renegade, I run it all the time when I'm in Open World. With just a few trait changes like you mentioned you can make it tanky as anything. Getting some more value out of Soulcleave is super nice as well.

I had a rough play with the Discritize Gear Optimizer and the Ritualist and Celestial versions are relatively close. Roughly it looks like Ritualists is around 10% higher damage. Full Celestial also gets you all the boon duration you need so that's nice. I'd guess that the Celestial version would be more survivable because of the toughness thrown into the mix like you mentioned as well. It's definitely not a bad option if you have it geared already. Just need to make sure the tank in raids is higher toughness than you.

@@connorconcarne One question: I saw that with your build you finished the Champion Mordremoth Vinetooth in ~42 seconds, could you try to do the same fight with same build but celestial stats and provide the time it takes with that change? I was trying it but I'm unfamiliar with the rotations and I'm unable to get those times no matter if I use Viper, Ritualist or Celestial :/ ...

Heal Revenant is definitely on my list of guides to do. Heal Quickness Herald is amazing at the moment. Heal Alac Renegade has fallen off a bit since they removed alacrity from Ventari skills but it's still somewhat functional. Celestial Renegade is great in open world (as are most Celestial builds). You'd basically just take the condi dps build, slap Cele gear on it and swap a few traits.

I find the Condi Ren rotation to be fairly smooth with only 2 loops (plus some tweaks for Orders From Above) to remember so it's fairly forgiving. In actual fights though you'll always have to end up tweaking the rotation depending on what mechanics you deal with (for every class). You're spot on, the main things would be: - Always try and swap Legends below 10 energy - Stay on the right weapon set for each legend - Use your main weapons skills off cooldown With that you'd be totally fine. On Kalla you can always use your elite skill to burn some extra energy if you need to help time the legend swap.

@@connorconcarne Honestly, I struggle a lot in Kala. I just simply cannot go below 10 Energy. It's really hard to find the timing on the utility skills for the big energy burn

@@Wakajce the Kalla portion of the rotation is a little harder. If you do the optimal rotation as listed you only have a very small window to swap below 10 energy. What I find very helpful is just to slot in heroic command while in Kalla. That will burn an extra 10 energy and buy you an extra few seconds to swap. Another thing I found (and covered in my Condi Renegade rotation video a while back) is that Mace 2 has a fairly long aftercast (where you're finishing the animation but the skill has already been cast). This wastes precious time and can cause you to swap when above 10 energy due to how tight that section of the rotation is. You can cancel the aftercast by immediately pressing another skill (mace 3 and or autoattacking). That will cancel the aftercast and save you time. I find those 2 things make it much easier to time the Kalla swap. If you're in a pinch you can also throw down the Kalla elite. It will slowly burn through your energy like the Mallyx elite which makes it much easier to time the swap.

@@connorconcarne I've been trying Heroic shout too but it hasn't helped me much. I think really it's a skill issue on my end lol, but I feel like I am getting the hang of it. I think learning the energy cost of the utility skills off by heart helps a lot and having them at the end of the rotation just when you want to swap is probably what will be key in the long run. I really like all of the renegade skills including the weapon skills, and I've been trying it a bit in open world now too (not with alac but just condi vipers), also been a lot of fun. I find open world is the best to learn what your abilities really can do beyond just knowing "axe 5 into Mace 3" for example. Anyway, thanks for your tips and hopefully I'll get a better grasp on it soon!

The build can work with Viper's Gear :-), you'd just need to hit 40% boon duration (you could go slightly lower but I wouldn't go below 35% or so). You'd need: - Leadership Runes - Concentration Sigil - Spherified Cilantro Oyster Soup - Celestial Food (can sub out for Concentration + Expertise boosting food if you wanted) - Toxic Focusing Crystals That should only be around a 7% dps drop compared to the build in the video but you'd have plenty of boon duration.

Yep, Celestial will work. You'll have lower damage and will need to watch your toughness unless you want to tank in raids. As long as you have more than 33% boon duration the build will function though.

Hiya, yep Condi Alacrigade is still great. It got a massive buff when Orders From Above gave out increased alacrity.

Yep this build is still perfectly viable. It's been untouched in the last few balance changes.

The main reason is that ideally you want to use an autoattack between your other skills so that you'll always trigger the stronger Embrace the Darkness pulse. You get the stronger pulse if you use a skill that consumes energy between pulses. The shortbow autoattack isn't a chain of skills unlike the mace. So it's very efficient to just use a single autoattack then use another skill. This doesn't work on mace because it's a chain of skills and you get more value from completing the autoattack chains.

Why thank you! Great point about the rotation differences in Fractals. You're right that the Shortbow 'rotation' changes quite a bit with you needing to spam your skills much faster and not wait to squeeze in the auto attacks. The raid rotation isn't particularly 'bursty' (which you want for Fractals and short phases). Nice plug of Holo's guide. I watched that a while ago and really enjoyed it (they nailed it)!

Straight Condi Renegade absolutely slaps as a DPS build. There are still quite a few Healbrands running around so I still find tons of opportunities to crack out the Condi Alac Rev

I find the raid rotation doesn't translate particularly well to open world (due to the slow ramp up that you mentioned). In Fractals and Open World in particular I find you need to tweak the rotation to get all your high value skills off as soon as possible (rather than spacing them out with auto attacks to juice the Mallyx elite). Holo did a great video on how to play Condi Alacrity Renegade specifically in Fractals which has some great tips on how to pump your DPS in the shorter Fractal encounters. TLDR: Yes, it's very possible but rarely worthwhile. A long time ago it was a good hyper-aggressive healer for Fractals. It was my first build I got ascended armor for and did T4 Fractals on. It was good there because the Kalla Elite Skill did tons of damage while healing teammates that were stacking and attacking, but after the Elite Skill was nerfed it has really struggled. Even back in the day it was never run for 10-man content because its sustain healing is reletively low and unreliable. It still heals, gives alacrity, gives protection, gives decent might, even some fury, and does a hell of a lot of breakbar damage. Butt it is still significantly behind the meta healers in general. To me it's currently in the same zone as Heal Chrono, Heal Specter, Heal Scrapper and maybe heal Warrior, where it works, it is an actual build, and it's always far better than having no healer, but it's noticibly weaker than meta picks and you’re probably only going to play it if you really like the class and want to have fun, or if it's the only class you have and you need to bring Alacrity on your healer (instead of going heal Herald and giving quickness). It will do it's job fine but random groups will probably look at you wierd anyways. It's a healer that has nearly everything it takes to be good at its job, but is a bit short on actual healing when not in Ventari, so just some number buffs could really help it out. (I haven't played heal revenant at all since the Elite Skill nerf, and the salvation trait-line has been fully reworked since then so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt). Healer is generally the most important and powerful role in the game and all the meta healers (Druid, Mechanist, Firebrand, Herald, Tempest) are incredibly powerful, so it's really hard for other healers to compete, even if they're quite strong in a vacuum. A lot of off-meta healers (off-meta healers to me include: Renegade, Vindicator, Warrior, Willbender, Scrapper, Specter, Chronomancer, Catalyst, Harbinger) just need a couple changes to be on a similar level but as of right now they all lack something significant and are noticibly behind meta picks in a way we don't quite see with dps builds. Renegade is one of the healers that are a lot closer than others imo but it's difficult to buff it without overbuffing Herald, as most of the non-boon support from Vindicator comes from core Revenant. Although buffing the healing on the Kalla Elite Skill or even improving the radius or lowering energy cost could go a long way. Like many off-meta healers, it also lacks consistent Regen, which makes it harder to keep allies constantly topped up for their damage modifiers (ie scholar runes), and makes healing difficult when your team spreads.

Live Trevor said, it is possible. It got nerfed really hard a few months back when they removed the alacrity generation from Ventari. Not to mention the nerf to the Kalla elite. Heal Herald absolutely slaps though.

It feels as though since so many classes (looking at you Mechanist) needed super low boon duration to upkeep their boons it's just triggered an arms race for the balance team . When Renegade needed 78% BD it just couldn't keep up with Mech (and others) because so much of it's gear was dedicated to boon duration (hence the massive buff). There was minimal room to overcap on BD as well which is sweet for quality of life and for those learning the class. You could always just crank the boon duration to simplify the build and make your life easier.
