I'm a big Man, 500lbs. Call me a Gravy Seal, Meal Team 6, whatever. I can't fit a normal Tactical plate carrier because of my size, but this chest rig is an excellent fit. Plenty of MOLLE webbing for whatever you need to add. I carry a pistol holster tear off first aid kit, and Admin pouch. I can wear this all day with no problem. I recommend this highly for any one looking for a budget set up.

I have the MCR6 Rapid Assault Chest Rig, and it's worked amazing so far. It's honestly one of the best chest rig designs I've encountered - I can carry six mags and I don't even feel any extra bulk. This leaves all the molle webbing free for anything else you need. Like a standalone admin pouch, radio pouch, pistol mag pouch, ect. Or if you're a mag goblin you can strap on even more mag pouches to the front for 12+ magazines. The price for the quality you get is really good. I haven't had a single issue with structural components. There are a couple frayed stitches and slightly smaller molle loops at the very edges, but nothing that causes genuine problems when in use. Unless you're an actual member of the military who abuses their gear, the quality that you get for the price is amazing. You're not gonna get anything better unless you drop $100+. One small issue is that it's only available with AR-15 sized mag pouches. While you can squeeze other mags in there, it's not ideal. But if you run AR-15 sized mags, it's not a problem. I'm also not the biggest fan of the strap setup at the back - I wish I could buy the Ronin chest rig's straps by themselves!

I am impressed with the MCR6. I put a Saw pouch on each side and a utility in the middle. Also pairing this with the hydration harness is an awesome setup. I use the hydration harness as a small assault pack instead of a bladder. I put a 3rd Saw pouch on the bladder. This for me is a great kit to have.

Great chest rig i had my recon for about 2 years and still holding up very well....

I bought my recon a year ago only lasted three months before the stitching ripped at my QD point. and that was with a pretty minimal weight of five mags so about five pounds and slow jogging.

As a combat arms operator from the 82nd Airborne, my personal opinion definitely favors the MCR 6 Rapid Assault rig. It's practically identical to what we used on patrols, very versatile because of the entire molle panel, which you get from the mag pouches being integrated and out of the way. Very customizable to mission needs/roles, while being able to maintain the lowest profile while firing in the steadier prone position.

Y'all seriously need to make a hybrid chest rig. Call it whatever you like. Rapid Recon, Recon Assault, Rapid Recon Assault, whatever you want. I like the wide, flat distribution of the magazine weight of the Rapid Assault, but I also like the pistol/accessory pouches of the Recon. Attaching stuff to the Rapid is never as secure as the Recon, but the Recon double stack mag configuration sticks out too much. Think wide, flat, and close to the body. Hard mount pistol/accessory pouches in front of the middle (4) AR mag pouces, remove the outer elastic tourniquet loops and add a third row of molle on both outer ends, and then reattach one elastic loop on the bottom of each AR mag pouch. The outer 3 rows of molle on either side are obviously for additional space to add whatever the end user wants (med kit on right, radio on the left/snack pouch on the right, makeup kit on the left/ninja smoke on the right, throwing stars on the left/etc). The price can stay the same as the Recon/Rapid chest rigs. The expansive molle real estate on the Rapid seems cool, but anything mounted there will be floppy and less secure, even with zip ties. A hybrid chest rig will sell. Just keep the material quality and construction high and people will buy it. Trust me. Please take my money.

I bought one last year in may but then was in a car wreck and barely tried it on and one side is unstitching and the other side has a strap that was only stitched on by a quarter of an inch. I just want n one that’s not defective 😢

Advice needed. I purchased this chest rig. I really like it but after getting it fit where I want it. I have alot of excess strap left on both the shoulder straps and the waist strap. I have it folded and wrapped with the Velcro straps but I'm worried it will come undone and be dangling in the way .

Does the MCR5 ride higher than the Modular Chest Set? The reason I'm asking is I purchased the Modular Chest Set and found that it's much too large for me. I stand 5' 4" tall and have a 29" waist. I'm considering ordering the Recon along with the Hydro Harness to get similar functionality as the Modular Chest Set. Unfortunately, the Modular Chest Set rides so low on me that even after shortening the shoulder straps as much as possible, it prevents me from being able to walk. It's similar to wearing a very tight mini skirt; not that I've ever tried that. For some reason, no one seems to accommodate adults of smaller stature such as myself. Unfortunately, I fall between child sizes and adult sizes. Please let me know if the MCR5 rides higher on the chest than the Modular Chest Set. If so will it ride at the same height with the Hydro Harness attached? I both are a yes, this may work for me. Thanks in advance, Eric

The pistol mag pouches ruin the rig. The 3 AR mag pouches holding 2 mags each is perfect. I wish you offered it without the pistol mag pouches. More isn't always better. I understand for some guys it works.
