Ive used this for two years now. The only problem, compared to other Malaysian parangs is the full tang, i prefer the rat tail. Makes it heavy and the weight should be more forward. Dont get me wrong i like it but using all day is hard work. I have the My parang also in the 10" version. I find it easier to use for longer periods.

I also have a Condor Mini Duku Parang. I haven't had the chance to use it much yet. But everything about it shouts "awesomeness"!

It is! Go out and use it and you'll be happy! I wonder if they'll rerelease it with micarta handles but keep the wire wrap 🤔

You could saturate the handle with boil linseed oil, I do this to all my wood handles and it does the trick, just a thought, great channel thanks for posting 👍😁💪🏻🇺🇸

Does it come sharp out of the box, or do you have to work the blade when you get it?

Mine came sharp enough out of the box...maybe you can call it a working edge.

They are nice but I still prefer the Case XX survival Bolo from WWll. Just the weight and balance, simply put it is a extremely well thought out design and quality made.

I’ve got a 1917-1918 U.S. Army machine gun engineer bolo with its full sheath. It had a very low convex grind originally. So bad it bounced off wood. I raised it and thinned it out a bit, so now it bites deep and throws chunks. Still tuff as a tank. Chops so good I won’t buy anything else. Nothing like non recycled steel! I don’t know what type of steel, just that it was made from ore, not recycled crap. No cold rolling going on in this steel either. It’s crazy to think what this knife saw, and who used it in the 98 years before I bought it in 2015.

Guess it depends on how you plan on using it. For more machete like tasks the parang is better IMO and more intuitive for chopping. I think the kukri would better in chopping once you learn to always hit the sweet spot. Thanks for watching!

I'm sorry, perhaps I should have been more clear. These tests/usage were done sporadically over many months. At the time it did not have many months of continuous usage.
