Yooo Street Fighter Alpha 3 was one of the first fighting games I ever owned, paired with Tekken 3 on my OG Playstation. SFA3 announcer is amazing, glad you highlighted it!

I’m surprised there wasn’t more mentioned from the Alpha series. They had the Colosseum stage that was a homage to the Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris fight and the yacht stage where they had a bunch of Capcom characters in the background, it was also cool to see Ken fight on the stage because Eliza would cheer if can got a hit but she would look away when Ken got hit.

I grew up loving 64's announcer, and I gotta say, that was THE MOST cap Smash opinion I've ever heard. Melee's announcer is the quietest out of all of them, the title screen is the only one in the whole game where he doesn't sound like he's leaning back with a drink in hand. Brawl, 4, and Ultimate's sound like they've got a megaphone going full volume on literally every line, just them saying "READY, GO" sounds like they put more force into that than Melee's more excited lines.

I hope this video does well just because I love fighting games as a whole and I know that some people don't care, but I wanna see more content like this.

Favorite fighting game stages? Literally anything with Las Vegas or casinos (Dead or Alive 4, Street Fighter II, Tekken 6, Sonic the Fighters, etc.). Otherwise, stages like Last Day on Earth, Northern Cave, 64 Final Destination, 999 Meters and South France Mansion are my favorites.

Big Band is actually even more sick than you realize if you play a 3-valve instrument like the trumpet (or the euphonium like me!) I have a 6 button controller (the 8bitdo M-30), and I was messing around with Big Band one day and realized they literally coded the buttons to work exactly like valves. I held the controller with my index, middle, and ring fingers on the bottom three buttons and realized all the notes are literally just exactly the fingerings (don't laugh) you use with three-valve instruments. It's really cool how they work around some limitations. In a full octave, every finger combination is used for 2 notes, depending on how you adjust your embouchure (how your lips are shaped on the mouthpiece). For instance, on euphonium, D and G are both played by holding down the first two valves. But you obviously can't do that on a controller, so they made the bottom 3 buttons the lower notes and the upper three buttons the higher notes! (For open notes, or notes without any valves pressed, they made the third button do that, since the third valve by itself isn't a note) For example, the first two buttons on the bottom row play a D, and the first two buttons on the _top_ row play a G. You can even use the dpad to go up or down an octave, meaning you can literally play any song in existence that's contained to three octaves, as long as you know how to play a 3-valve instrument like trumpet, tuba, or euphonium. It's so freaking sick.

I think the biggest omission is Guilty Gear XX #Reload's announcer; I know that Accent Core's was there because its pretty much the one everybody plays aside from Strive for obvious reasons...but I always play AC+R with the #Reload announcer mod because that one actually kicks so much ass compared to +R's announcer
