Agree with Damien about the driver's test. A vehicle is considered a deadly weapon in an altercation. There should at least be tests every 3 or 5 years where you're tested on how well you drive and if you should be allowed to renew your license or take classes. Having a driver's license is a privilege.
@trevorford8702

I would literally hate that, but it does seem like the responsible thing to have. Cars kill so many people, but they’re so necessary for adults to have financial stability with the state of public transportation in most places, so there’s also that to consider.
@amyfries4076
@amyfries4076 2 жыл бұрын
To a degree I agree with this since vehicles could be considered a dangerous weapon, however, imo I feel as tho once a person hits a certain age, like transition into the elderly phase of their life, is when they should be tested more often, just to prove they're mentally and physically capable of driving safely...cuz the countless of elderly I've seen that are a hazard to the roads and other drivers absolutely blows my mind! Or, if someone has a history of causing accidents, they should be forced to test more often than anyone else. But I agree it should be like every 5 years that people should be tested, if not every 10 yrs

12:42 Not to mention, sometimes the employee is new and doesn't have any problem-solving skills. Sometimes when they don't know how to do things, you have to prompt them to seek help. Happens a lot with kids, and it's not a problem, it's literally just speeding the process up by encouraging them to seek assistance from their manager. Also there are times when I'm getting stonewalled by an employee over something silly, and then the manager just gives me what I want. Had somebody ring me up wrong, and they made a note in their system that the next time I came in I would get a discount. Came in, lady at the counter refused to even check their notes system, so I elevated the problem rather than walk out without my money. Had bills to pay, not gonna let an employee stiff me just because they're in a shitty mood. Nobody got fired, the manager just looked mildly exasperated at their chronically shitty employee and fixed the problem. Honestly even with crappy employees, 90 percent of managers aren't gonna fire them for the same reason they're gonna give you want you want: they don't want to deal with the conflict and if you're asking for a manager chances are the job would be refilled by another worker with similar capabilities and a different list of ignorances.

I've asked for the manager before but because I wanted to point out the amazing service I was getting when it was clear that the place was packed and all the servers were slammed. When I was a manager I wanted to know what was both working and not working well and I always appreciated when someone identified an employee who performed above and beyond. Especially when I know they are working in a position that does not make a lot. The compliment may come up during their review and they may be promoted or given a raise, or it may be used in comparison when they have had an off day to show that the off day was literally just a once time occurrence and not a complete representation of their work ethic.

I assume the ones about suicidal thoughts or actions, because if you answer yes to those then that opens the door of liability and you can be put in watch and whatnot. If you are having those thoughts and need the care, it's important and great that it's offered, but that care is very regulated and things like your communication and privacy are heavily monitored. And depending on the case (for example, in the state of Florida you can be Baker Acted and it results in this) you may need a legal adult to check you out of care. The system is made to help people but it can be scary if you don't know what going on going in.

Obviously taking into consideration where you live, it's important to answer mental health and health questions in general honestly. If a doctor treats you with falsified information and then you die that evening whether from mental health reasons or a physical symptom, they can be held liable if you were "treated" by them. I'm a mandated reporter because I work in a school if I don't report abuse, neglect, medical issues, or suicide ideation and something happens to those kids, I can be responsible for it even if it's the kid's fault for not telling me everything.

I’m glad Damien came in with the caveat because I live in Japan where the test IS that hard (or you can pay $2500 for driving school) and because I’m disabled, I couldn’t renew my license and the public transit in my rural area isn’t adequate, so the harder test is actually 100% preventing me from accessing reliable transportation when it would make my life as a disabled person MUCH easier. Personally, I think Japanese drivers are just as bad. I think the difference is that neurotypical culture (social interaction thinking) dominates society and people’s driving sensibilities so they only follow the rules “as needed, you know?” Whereas my autistic ass will follow all rules 100% of the time, as written, and it was a JOURNEY finding out most people don’t and will get road rage if you do. Tl;dr the issue isn’t t the driving test, it’s how Americans (and societies) think about rules and how closely to follow them in social situations.

I think this game drastically changes based off of whether you count things you have EVER done, or things you've done in your adult life. As a kid, it's kinda your job to explore the boundaries of social interactions and shit. You try things, fuck up and mess around.

Before Noah said that line about he could be immune to something they haven't found yet, I was literally thinking: Noah is the anti-anxiety drug we all need. 22:07 🤣

100% agree with Damien's "controversial" take. Considering we are basically the largest car owners in the world, it's insane how braindead the U.S driving test is. Even worse, there is no real penalty for failure. The scariest part about the U.S driving test is that there are people who have failed it multiple times on the road.

I TOTALLY agree with Damien. Everytime I leave the house I'm constantly watching other drivers... A couple weeks ago I almost got into a head on crash at a roundabout because traffic was backed up for a train and dude thought coming into the ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE was the right thing to do...

I agree with Tommy about pizza, it's not that great. It's just ok. On rare occasions I'll crave it but only sausage or Supreme pizza. 1 slice is enough.

Words cannot express how much I agree with Damien's take on cars. I'm terrified of driving but not because of my own skill, because of everybody else. I've had 2 cars totaled because of getting hit by other people not paying attention. Also, Damien's accidental text is the most adorable thing I've ever seen

I became Noah's hype man when he was getting heated over the manager thing. Especially door dash, its the most frustrating thing to already be hungry and then have something wrong with your order.

I've asked to talk to a manager before. It was to tell them how happy I was with the service I received, and to give compliments for the employee directly to their manager, in hopes they'd get acknowledged and rewarded.

Agreed about public transit AND harder road test for driver's license (I failed my first because they thought I was too timid. Bullshit, I've seen the locals and was defense driving). I never thought of Pampered Chef, Avon, and Girl Scouts as being pyramid schemes before...but it makes total sense (I was a Girl Scout but didn't try hard to sell the cookies. I always had a mid or lower prize I aimed for cause I knew it was impossible to sell the max. And I've bought PC products but never sold).
