I don’t do that well with scary stuff. I don’t watch horror movies, I don’t go to haunted houses, and I don’t play horror games. Well...for the most part. There is one horror game series that I’ve always liked: Five Nights At Freddy’s. It’s unique, colorful, and way deeper than you initially expect. And over the years, I’ve had a pretty interesting history with this series. So from my days working on Game Theory to...whatever I’m doing now, these are some Confessions Of A Five Nights At Freddy’s Fan!

Fun Fact: That shot where Bonnie is staring directly at the camera is actually some sort of throwback to one of Scott's nightmare when making the game. He said that he had a nightmare where he was defending himself against Bonnie. Just a little fact.

While its true that he did have nightmares of Bonnie. I do believe that the camera frame, and secret boot up screen are references to the first placeholders jumps care for Bonnie. Which was just a static close up. I may be wrong, and you may be right, but I do believe I heard what I previously mentioned quite a few times.

@@dollydash7361 True, Fnaf 4 is really creepy. Although some of the animatronics like Plushtrap and Nightmare aren't that scary because Nightmare doesn't really have a jumpscare, and Plushtrap looks kinda dumb, the rest are really creepy looking and have scary jumpscares.

Fun fact: When FNAF Help Wanted VR came out, I bought it to try with my new Oculus Rift S, Night 3 of the first game Foxy ran in the room, and I freaked out and ran into my wall. I busted my head open, and needed 4 staples in my head. I never booted it up since. Not because I am afraid of the game, but because I am afraid of going back to the ER

FNAF will always have a special place in my heart as I couldn’t stand anything horror until I began seeing videos of it. I mean I was still scared as heck at first and could cover my eyes when I expected to be scared, but as time went on I managed to get more entertained by it than terrified and it’s helped me begin watching horror movies and other scary games.

Fnaf pizzeria sim is my fav main game, cause that was the first one where I was actively in the fandom when it came out. The emotions I had watching Mat's livestream were insane. Also the humor is on point. My real fav is FNAF World.

I have this vivid memory where we were at a bar and my parents were drunk and we forced them to play fnaf 4 and they got jumpscared and we asked “who got you?” And my parents just said “teeeeeeth” Edit: a lot of people are saying it was chica but when we got home from the mini vacation we asked them and it was nightmare foxy!

Admittedly, I'm in the exact same boat, I've seen tons of lets plays, done my deep diving into the lore, but when I tried playing FNAF 1 on mobile, I chickened out. I still get caught off guard on occasion if i'm absent minded-ly listening to a play-through in the background, the noises, they get to me sometimes.

I'm the same way. The only one I've played is UCN. At least I've gotten to 1000 points and got the first cutscene. (I only got that through animatronics that won't kill me :/)

The reasons I love fnaf but have never played it: #1: Markiplier is entertaining enough so I can watch him play instead #2: I’m deathly afraid of it and cannot handle that stress #3. My house is too loud so I can’t focus on audio cues which the game was built upon

Laughter can be a reaction people have to being scared, after they're safe from the stress of being in a scary situation (even in games) they might have a laugh a little bit to relieve their stress.

Probably because he's been exposed to the fnaf 4, vr, and sister location jump scares which are actually legitimately scary so going back to googly eyes wobbling and stiff animations actually makes them look hilarious by comparison now

Heres some tips (i only played fnaf 1 and 2): fnaf 1 keep checking pirates cove and check door lights shut doors when needed. Fnaf 2 consistently shine flashlight and use vent lights as well as wind up puppet and after winding up puppet immediately put on freddy mask

I've done something really similar. I basically haven't played ANY of the games except for a little bit of 2. My cousin and I would trade off the ipad when ever one of us died. We also made a rule that if you caught the puppet in the act of leaving the box you got an 'extra life'; not really sure where that came from. For anyone wondering, yes we did eventually catch the puppet in the act of leaving the music box.

this video is so relatable, fnaf was my first experience with horror too (except for seeing a little bit of slender) and it *terrified* me lol! i couldn’t even look at video thumbnails and stopped using youtube for a couple of months. i still can’t play horror games but now i can pretty much watch horror videos without being scared for months!

My first experience with five nights at Freddy’s was when I was maybe ten and my older brother showed me this captain sparkles video. He promised it wasn’t a scary game and urged me to watch it with him. I was extremely uneasy and kept asking him if he was sure it wasn’t scary but he swore. This was until Bonnie jump scared me and I jumped off the floor (moms a teacher and we were watching it on a school laptop in her classroom after school) and screamed for a solid 10 seconds at least. Of course now as a young adult who hit 18 last year I can say that I can watch those kinds of videos without fear but back then I avoided fnaf like the plague because of what that did to me😂. That was until junior high when I watched jacksepticeye play sister location. I was just beginning my battle with depression and those videos gave me something incredible… a good laugh in a time where laughter was rare. Hell it was a rare thing for me to even smile. What sprung from that was a love of this franchise and horror games as a whole that lives on to this day.

I was in a pretty similar situation. I was never allowed to play the games so I just watched KZfaq videos about them and I’ve become a huge fan of the franchise because of these videos. Very recently I finally built up some courage to ask my dad if I could play them and he said he didn’t care so I’m finally going to play these games!

I'm the same!!! I've never played them but absolutely love the games!! My husband once tried to get me to play the VR original FNAF game and I lasted 2 minutes until Chica stood at the window and I had a panic attack and ripped the helmet off :D

I hate the freaking pre-jumpscares, like when Bonnie was staring into your soul through the camera, or either of the withered animatronics in FNAF 2. It's those micro-scares that make me too afraid to play. Still one of my absolute favorite series EVER!!

I don’t know what anyone is talking about when they say the FNaF 3 Springtrap jumpscare is underwhelming. Honestly, try staring Springtrap in the face for five seconds and tell me you’re not scared for your life. Then again maybe that’s just his design and the fact there’s a murderer possessing him instead of an innocent child.

I mean I see why people think his jumpscare is kinda weak but his design helps A LOT in making it scarier. no idea why people would think that is a valid reason to not like the game tho. If there is something about fnaf 3 that I don't like, is the fact that the only animatronics that are added through the nights are just phantoms, the game gets repetitive. well, I'm glad Scott tried to switch his game at least, too bad it didn't work.

@@epicrandomperson5555 Yeah the whole vents thing was really cool, if I ever made a fangame with fnaf mechanics I'd use em. And I agree with you saying that there are so many things to keep an eye on, I still remember Markiplier still checking outside the doors because he was too scared of Springtrap just.. you know... being there. While the game still has its flaws I think it got too much hate for stupid reasons but hey, that's just my opinion. Gotta love Springtrap's backstory tho.
