Yes! To all of this!! I keep buying, but I desperately just want a handful that I absolutely love! I too have a couple Paola Reina dolls, they haven’t even made it out of their boxes yet. I feel ridiculous honestly, like I just can’t make up my mind.

The girls look absolutely beautiful and love there onesies ever so super cute.😃❤️😍 I don't think all of us realize that how much money we have spent on our babies in this hobby and all the accessories. Especially if we added it all up we would all be absolutely shocked. And the money could have went for something else we really needed. And when I think about it I spend more on my Dolls then myself.but it's so very exciting and I'm so very blessed for what I have and I don't regret a thing it's what makes me happy and inspired and my babies make me feel alive in this crazy world we live in.😍❤️😃

Julie, this is why I love your channel, because you're so honest and genuine about who you are!!! This is such a great topic, and it's making me think about the reborns I have bought so far. I've always been a doll lover, and the only collection of dolls I have (as a lover, not a collector) are my Barbies from when I was little. I took very good care of them and still have them all (from the early to mid '60s). When I discovered Reborns at the end of last summer, I fell in love with them!! As a newbie, I now have 3 reborns and a cuddle baby, and I have another reborn on her way to me (which I'm sooooo excited about, she's so pretty!!!!!!) But... I have to show some restraint because I don't have the room for a big collection, and there are other things I want to do like travel to see family and friends. Also, I've noticed a few people are selling their collections on the reborn website, in fact, one collection is huge and she's in Ontario Canada!! I think her name's Charlotte?! She has some beautiful reborns!!! 🙂💖

Oh I love your mom’s advice ! 😊 I’m gonna use her advice when I’m feeling guilty over collecting such a big collection! Lol yes I will 👍🏻 These twins are sooo adorable!!! I love the Sage kits!! I think when they are sitting around on display you feel they need to be sold but then if I had to choose which one was going it’s a very very hard decision so again as you said you can never part with some of them and that’s just the truth even if they’re just sitting around. My daughter’s first collectible doll was Grace ! ❣️❣️❣️❣️

I think there is something about these reborns that makes us each time want the perfect baby . But unfortunately more and more keep coming out and we can keep striving for that dream baby , subconsciously trying to find the perfect one to love ,. . Your mom is very wise there certainly are more things in life than fixing a chicken coop . You have to do things in life that bring you joy !

I just bought my first reborn doll 2 weeks ago from Mel Amore Nursery her name was Dallas but I decided to name her her a name I composed for my daughter over 40 years ago I got such negative vibes from my family I didn’t use the name. I love this little girl and I have named her Arylie half my husband (Gary and half me Valerie) My daughter says I smile every time I look at my baby girl and I guess I do I don’t have to hold her all the time but I admit I peek in my room quite often just to see her sweet little face. I still love watching doll videos and I am in love with some of the sculpts but don’t see myself as a collector either.

Julie , I ‘m so happy your son is making progress and on the way to recovery. I get what you are saying, I love seeing all the sculpts and all the artistry in the painting and rooting and photos. That is admiration and appreciation that the sculpture artists and painter artists bring out in me.The reborns that I call “mine” are the ones I connect to by a likeness of someone I love , have loved or could love. Maybe a repressed memory, expression,emotion or time in my life. Maybe that’s where the “ bond” comes from. Hugs,🫂💜🦋 .

I wish my husband had your mom’s philosophy about the doll hobby. All I have to do is mention buying a doll and he starts rattling off all the things we need to spend the money on instead. But that didn’t stop me from just buying a Claire Taylor partial silicone that I got for a steal because she’s an older sculpt. Looking forward to seeing your new silicone baby boy!

Good for you for coming to the realization of what you truly like! I'm at the same place too. I absolutely love the few babies I have, and I really don't see a new one in my future (at least for the foreseeable future). I'm going to a reborn show in June, but I don't have expectations of getting a doll. I will spoil the crap out of the ones I have!❤

You kind of told my story, too. I became obsessed with reborns and looked for more, more, more! I’ve lost count of how many I have, and I sure don’t want to know how much I’ve spent. Many of them are in a closet, not on display, because they just don’t have my heart. The ones that do will stay forever. I’m seriously trying to stop, now. I’ve given some away and might try to sell a few though I know I won’t get much, since they’re replicas. But honestly, I’ve run out of room!!😊 Oh and I love those red haired munchkins!

I love love the peter rabbit for babies. And vintage pooh bear. When it comes to getting dolls I been a collector for about 8 years, and just this year, I made a channel an instagram. But the larger amount of baby's an clothes an really anything for that matter. Because of the same reason anxiety. I'm in the process of rehoming hobbys that I start and not end up not loving. I know what you're talkin about I only have six reborns and I have about six or eight other dolls but I live in my bedroom along with all my babies which with it and all their clothes and my clothes there's hardly any room for me LOL! I don't really worry about having another baby plus I can't afford another baby and I love the ones I have but if I want another baby like I did with you I try to make payments if that baby means that much to me if it doesn't mean that much to me I'm not going to worry about it because that means I don't need it! I don’t understand how Ashton Drake gets away with their photos because their actual dolls do NOT look like the photos. Paradise Galleries are a little bit better. I don’t really understand how both companies call their dolls reborns, from my understanding of reborns they aren’t , right? Being a doll lover myself I want to enjoy all types of dolls but I don’t foresee getting an “art doll” because I keep my costs way down ( less guilt lol). I enjoy seeing them tho. Im having fun and my “babies” bring me joy and in this crazy world we all need more joy. I hope your son’s recovery is smooth and complete, it’s a tough thing to go thru. Thank you for your videos.

I am also a doll lover. I'm learning to paint them. I laugh with my friends that if I don't like one of my children I remake them. I also want my dolls a certain way. It does make me work on getting better. I hope your son gets better soon.

I was never able to buy the dolls I really wanted because of bills and stuff the ones I got I won from giveaways and I am very happy with them! But I know what you mean because I wanted some dolls so bad but after the time passed I am not interested anymore, maybe if I had them I would sell it to buy other ones and I am only entering reborn giveaways if I really want the doll not just to have it.

I'm new to you

You do realize you could have only like 3 babies & still be a doll collector, right? lol Every collector has their own criteria for what prompts them to buy & bring something into their collection. Honestly while I can admire other's collections there aren't very many sculpts that actually I would want in My collection & I've always known that. I typically will debate for weeks at least on a particular doll I want.......sometimes months & even times I've waited years. Last year I had a "flood" of babies join the nursery. The reason for that is because my daughters gifted me babies. Otherwise I never get more than one per year & at times skip a year. I have a long process of pros & cons I debate. (it's likely a miracle I buy any doll to some extent 😂) But that is how I avoid impulse buying. I've spent a hefty sum on my authentic reborns, and that was when prices were quite a bit lower than now. Add to that the clothing/accessories... Given my current situation financially I could beat myself up over spending that money on something that is quite frivolous when you think about it. But I don't. I learned a long time ago that life is far too short & you can't put a price on joy/happiness. That said........I realized a few months ago that the replicas pricing could potentially create a problem if I didn't double down on my pros/cons debate vs how much I actually do want a particular doll. They're cheap enough one could potentially get out of control & I don't want overrun with dolls either even though I love them. This causes me to be pickier & pickier & my list get shorter instead of longer. Nor do I let myself branch out into other types of dolls. Doesn't matter than I really love them. If I do that......well.......yeah. I just enjoy them in other collections. I like seeing your CPKs & someone elses BJD dolls ect.
