It warms my heart that both of his parents own up to their mistakes. Most parents after divorces take years to make up, but when they do its beautiful. I grew up in a alternating back and forth between homes. I am so happy that I kept a great relationship with both of my parents. Also, if you’re parents are divorced or something else, don’t want to get a perfect family. You’re parents separated on purpose, not just for fun. Please remember that.

Damn Shane, you are like a carbon copy of your dad. You look SO much like him when he was young. By the way, I'm here because I never watched this series before because it scared me. I too had a volatile relationship with my dad and I was extremely scared of him. I avoided this series because I thought I would feel guilty for not having properly restored our relationship... but he passed away in April and I don't know... Maybe I'm looking for someone to connect to. It's been hard dealing with his death during quarantine since I'm alone. And I'm also here because of the things coming out about you recently and I guess I want to learn more about your past. I know how it feels to be hurt by what's happened in childhood and it causes people to act out in ways that are not healthy. Our upbringings really affect us and I don't think people who had an "ideal" childhood can understand it since they turned out "fine" and would never do what you have done or things that I have done. I've done lots that I'm not proud of and I am so grateful that I don't have lasting proof of it. Those out there screaming about your past have likely done lots that they're not proud of as well, and they too have the ability to leave it in the past because there's no lasting proof. I hope that we all come out of the other side of this situation having better understanding about growth and can accept that people have the ability to change. We are not our past.. The more I watch Shane I cannot help notice how beautiful his eyes are. He’s a really beautiful person inside and out.

Shane, this hit home for me so hard. My biological dad hasnt been a part of my life since I was 9. I'm 29 now. My mother and him divorced, my brother and I went with her, and he completely cut us out of his life. He hasnt made an effort to be a part of our lives at all. Once a few years ago, I found him on Facebook and we started emailing, but then he deleted his profile and went back to being a ghost. I have a lot of the same anger and sadness and confusion that you expressed prior to meeting up with your father again and watching you two reconnect really made me emotional. I wonder if it will ever happen for me. Doubtful in all honesty, I have no idea where he is in California or what he's doing with his life. I don't know if he has other children, what he does for work, he could even have passed and I would have no idea. Either way, this video gave me an odd glimmer of hope that maybe one day I will have the chance to confront my biological father. I have no idea what I would say, but it's something to think about.
