Who are some of you favorite congueros with a monster tumbao?

I would say José "Juicy" Jusino would be a good candidate. Maybe even a bit "underrated"...!?! I especially got aware of him at Celia Cuz's "A Night of Salsa", where, in my opinion he played so clean, elegant, with brilliant sound and tastefull fills... For example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f5-nYJllmK6qfnk.html "Masacote gordo....." ;-)

Great lesson! The only thing I wasn't so keen on was the extra clave beat on the 3 side. You made the important points of the 2 sides of the clave though and I liked the upbeat tempo of the presentation itself.

Glad you enjoyed it! I’m not sure I quite follow you’re qualm though. There is one bar of the clave that contains 2 notes (not beats), which we can refer to as the “2-side.” The other bar contains 3 notes, which we can refer to as the “3-side.” That’s all there’s is to it, in terms of labeling the “sides,” nothing extra : )

Hey great playing!! The only suggestion I have is that it would be great if you teached a little slower with the hands movements. For example I watch a gentleman name Erik Perez on yiu tube. And I have picked up alot from his teachings.. Congrats!!

Hey Cesar, Eric's videos are great (he commented just below)! Just so you have an idea, the Quick-Tip Lessons we post here on KZfaq are geared more towards intermediate players, so we focus on getting a lot of great information packed in quickly, hence the name of the series : ). On our website however, CongaChops.com we teach every single lesson, course and concept much slower with more attention to detail (including each individual hand movement) and have over 30+ Hours of step-by-step lessons on a variety of topics from Beginner to Pro. The idea is that if you spend some time with our beginner courses on the site, you'll have all the tools, techniques and concepts you need, to take advantage of our intermediate and advanced material. So if you're having trouble with speed of the lessons and want to learn how to play step-by-step from scratch and build monster technique, if you have a chance, grab a Free Trial so you can poke around the site and see what I mean!

Hello! When the rhythm gets too fast; Is there a simpler pattern that doesn't have the "manoteo"? I get the feeling that removing the "filling" will make our sound cleaner (as well as avoiding muscle tension). Maybe you've already explained a hand to hand marcha pattern and I haven't seen it yet. take care!
