A few takeaways from someone who attended Game 2: 1) If you’re in town when the Golden Knights are, go. Stuff like the pregame show (Which a local aptly described as “Giving theater kids sports money”) comes across so much better in person, and it’s so much louder than it looks on TV; at one point I was tracking decibel readings off my Apple Watch! 2) Honestly, one of my big concerns with Vegas was always “What happens to the fanbase when things go south?” Notice I said was. For a variety of reasons it definitely feels like Vegas will have a pretty loyal fanbase. Not to mention it was so awesome to see the buy in across town from businesses displaying Golden Knights stuff in their windows to even a few Vegas landmarks wearing custom sized jerseys!

As a Leafs fan, I want to tip my hat to Phil Kessel for his third ring but with the Golden Knights this time. I still remember him from that horrific 2013 failed comeback, and I was disgusted when I found out the full picture on why he was traded away and how the Toronto media framed him as a cancer. I wish him nothing but the absolute best in life. Fly high, Phil!

I got no beef. They make smart moves, foster a positive attitude, capitalize on other teams' mistakes, and avoid blunders like, oh, protecting sex offenders or constantly threatening to move. That kind of franchise _deserves_ to win a Cup, however many/few seasons it takes.

As a long time viewer of this channel and a golden knights fan, I'm so incredibly happy that we won the cup. Our organization has had its highs and definitely its lows but the win the cup in just 6 years is unfathomable. To be honest before the Golden Knights came into town a majority of my home of Las Vegas wasn't really into hockey very much, myself included. However a combination of them coming into town and watching tree's hockey vids sparked interest in the sport for me. By the time the Knights came I full embraced the team and was ready for an awful first year but with the determination and fire to help support the tragedy so many people here got into hockey and it really united the city I'd never seen before. The parade was the first time in my home that I felt true unity of all of us coming together since the incident. But I'm just glad we came together in much happier terms🙂. I do also understand how insane it is that we won the cup in just 6 years. The parade is something I'm gonna cherish for the rest or my life. As a Knights fan, I remember after the Knights had their spectacular collapse at the end of the 2022 season that costed them the playoffs, many fans were pondering if perhaps this was the kick in the ass that this organization has been needing. It was an interesting and worthy question of asking for a team that had garnered infamy over the years for their attempts at glory. Only a year later, that question can now easily be answered with a resounding yes. Also, William Karlsson deserves to have a statue built outside of T Mobile Arena for that speech

It's not a meme. Las Vegas has been waiting for a title for years You see, Vegas was ridiculed for not being a sports town (for dumb reasons). Everyone was waiting for a team to call their own. But all they got were minor league teams. Fast forward to 2014. The NHL awarded Vegas an expansion franchise. Many people believed that selling hockey in the desert would be like herding cats. But Bill Foley had the vision, commitment and desire to make it work. And then 1 October came along. A city slowly but surely stitching itself together was instantly torn apart. They needed something to rally around-and this team came just in the nick of time. The rest, as they say, is history. It's not just the Golden Knights that won. An entire city won that night.

I live in Edmonton so obviously I'm an Oilers fan but I was born in Utah so Vegas has been my no. 2 since day 1, and I've never been a bigger Vegas fan. Really proud of the whole team, and even the management. It was also the first time in any sport I enjoyed seeing the owner lift a trophy, I don't think an owner has deserved to lift a trophy more than Bill Foley because he set the ton from day 0. People can cry all they want, but we are witnessing the Golden Knights turn a desert state into a hockey state.

Thank you Tree for getting me into hockey back in 2017. I thought too this team was gonna suck for a while but they’ve been a roller coaster. I was happy the Knights finally won the Cup after sacrificing so many players to do it. And I have noticed the salt from other team’s fans, even some using the A’s reverse boycott to shit on the Golden Knights’ attendance during Game 5.

The Sacramento Kings and their fans are still mumbling, "that should've been us," when their former players, coaches, and owners won it all since leaving Sactown. First, Michael Malone was fired by the Kings in 2015 and then, won a title with the Denver Nuggets. And on the next day, the Maloofs won a title as part of the ownership group with Bill Foley.
