Shashi Tharoir is barely a recognised figure in the rural sectors of India. No mass appeal beyond cities. Thats probably the reason he was never considered. Even educated folks struggle to understand him at times.

Sadly the best candidates have a very marginal and thin chance of being voted to power. It's all rhetoric that gainers votes. UP, MP, Bihar, Rajasthan etc basically the Hindi belt of India controls the electoral outcomes of our country based on their population which is vastly uneducated.

Still they are not learning from thier mistakes which made all us question whether they want to do what is good for the country or what is good for the family.

Unlike the bluff and bluster model of FM Shashi Tharoor has exposed the govt's failure on all fronts, supported by all available data, despite the constraints of No Data Avalable(NDA) regime of NDA. One can expect more bluster soon from the FM who is unfit to be in her post. Hats off to Tharoor for showing the mirror to the govt which excels in headline management instead of managing the economy.

Wonderful speech by Tharoor. He has reeled out a lot of statistics to nail the government's claim of its unparalleled achievents during the 10 years of NDA rule. But the FM or for that matter everyone in the ruling party is adept at countering reason with unreason or turn to subjects not relevant to issues at hand with the support of the shouting brigade.
