So when I was 14 I wanted to go into game development, Rareware studios is located roughly where some of my extended family lived at the time. My parents knew I was a huge Rareware fan & they surprised me during a trip to visit the studio from outside of the gates. (To get a sneaky peak I suppose) Anyway, long story short one of the devs at the time pulled out of the driveway & noticed us standing around there, she ended up talking with me & offered me a ride to have a quick tour of the building before her meeting about quote ‘this pirate game we’re working on’ (it was Sea Of Thieves). So this lady actually happened to be Louise Ridgeway (one of the main animators on Conkers Bad Fur Day as well as the voice of Berri & other female Conker characters.) She was nothing but kind to me & gave me a Rareware merch bag from storage before I left. She also told me all about her work on Conker & told me about the hellish production of the game. One of the nicest memories I’ve had from a place, I never became a game dev in the end but whenever I think of Conkers Bad Fur Day I think of what happened to me on that day- Apologies to the Oney community if this wasn’t a goofy brainrot comment, I just felt this story was wholesome enough to share x Edit: Just to clarify I have no interest in game development anymore as an adult, I’m 21 now & have just self published my own novella & poetry collection. So yeah! I’m a filthy, starving writer now! :)

That's incredibly wholesome, ty for sharing. Not many could probably tell a story like that with Rare being minimized now and exclusively UK based. Very epic memory! Update: Rare just opened a 100 acre, carbon free emission campus in April which is extremely cool!

This is my all time favourite game. It still lives up to memory to this day. My only regret is, since i never had an N64 as a kid, i grew up thinking "Conkers bad fur day" was an xbox original exclusive because i played the "Live and reloaded" reskin, so watching the original everything looks different
