Connect a ps4 controller to steam 2017 tutorial - Connect ps4 controller to pc tutorial. This video is a detailed guide on how to setup a ps4 controller to Steam without downloading 3rd party software.

Since everyone keeps commenting on these things, I'll just pin this comment so I don't have to repeat my answer constantly... - GAME FPS ON MY VIDEO The frame rate is ONLY low and stuttery on the recorded video, and NOT in the actual game while I was playing. In my screen recorder I was using the "window capture mode" instead of "game capture mode", which apparently captured the game at very low FPS. - NO AUDIO IN HEADPHONES PS4 controllers has a speaker build into it, and when you hook up your controller to your PC, your PC sometimes switches audio source to your controller. To fix this, go into your audio settings and simply change your speaker settings.

If you have a Bluetooth computer, you don’t need an adapter. Just connect it, and I would recommend getting Ds4windows driver, because it emulates the controls for Windows 10 to follow with Ps4. you can still play steam games to. This even conforms vibration settings, and much more in-depth settings than the Steam Big Picture mode. However Windows will still show Xbox Controls for all games you play with the remote, but DS4windows just follows through much more with Ps4 controllers. Oh and one more thing! If your computer doesn’t have Bluetooth, like mine at one point, just buy a wireless bluetooth USB adapter, (they’re really cheap on Amazon) and connect your ps4 remote.

Bro srsly thanks aaaa lot man, I had some tough days + my neck and shoulders literally were destroyed, but I have bought the definitive Edition of Mafia I. So I was prepared to chill, got some pillows in my back a nice couple juices to my right, tv was placed in Front of me instead of my gaming monitor, watched the intro, but finally as it cames to play the game, the left joystick wasnt working. I just watched this tutorial last week to set up my PS4 controller to steam, and it worked. I was happy. Now, I try to connect today to play and it isn't working anymore. It's like Steam won't even read the controller. It doesn't even detect a device or anything. Please help, does anyone know how to fix this now? I don't know what I did wrong or what went wrong but it's very frustrating.

My experience has been much different. I just plugged my controller in, and it's default settings were fine, including the gyro being disabled on initial setup.

It's not entirely true that you need an adapter to use the controller wirelessly. If you have bluetooth on your computer, the controller can be detected very easily.

@@samgoossens1420 that's for sure what happened to me. Just change the default speakers to your headphones and it can work. Or, click on the sound icon in the taskbar, choose your headphones, and it will work.

So, basically - it's impossible. But some games have native DS4 controller support. So I recommend enabling PS4 controller configuration support in Steam globally, but force disabling it in settings for games that have native DS4 controller support.

Well, my brother doesn't have bluetooth. So we use the adapter to connect 2 PS4 Controllers to play Lego The Hobbit via Steam. Sometimes his or mine controller doesn't works. or even both. We tried to close the one and keep the another but still doesn't work. If anyone can help us please comment below (We using Windows 10)

What about games which doesn't support controllers and you need to precharge the settings from other people on steam, which is very easy but your left jostick goes crazy and the character can't stop moving or going in the direction you want him to go. Also disabling it it's not useful, goes wrong anyway. Can someone help? It's for Legacy of Kayn: Soul Reaver.

Do I need to turn off the gyro in every game, or is the setting saved for every steam games? Also, can we close the big picture mode once the configuration of the controller is done while saving the settings we did? Because having the big picture on my games as an overlay reduces my fps, so it kinda bothers me.

Steam doesn't support sony. Only Microsoft controllers. You can still play with a PS4 controller. But It will have an Xbox config layout. I tried. Got frustrated as well.

the same thing happens when i try to charge my DS4 with my samsung phone charger. It might have something to do with how much Ampere/Volt (not sure which one) is on the usb hub. if it's too low it won't do a thing and just turn off.

If your controller doesnt work, here's a solution. It might be setted as a sound device. Go to settings -> devices -> bluetooth and other devices. if you see under sound 'wireless controller' right click it, and delete it. it should work now!
