Sid Jacobs once told me to learn a motif in at least 5 locations on the neck, and soon you will start grabbing everything under your fingers without thinking about it

Very cool, I’ve tried to think about ways of incorporating more rhythmic ideas into my playing. I’m definitely going to give this a try. You should be teaching at a university somewhere, you explain things so clearly

What’s the importance of keeping in mind that they are two flats in the key?how does that help in my soloing

Hey, Samuel, Thanks for being here, Great question.. briefly .. For me - understanding the key signature of a scale is super important for me as a guitarist. It helps me to see all the notes of the scale all over the fretboard, so no matter where I am, I can easily identify the scale's half steps. for me, This is crucial for building cool chord progressions and creating interesting melodies/sequences for solos. Plus, after a while, you'll get so used to a key that you won't even have to think about it... which of course, we all have/know that experience with some of our most "go to" scales.. naturally.
