► THE PROF: Your lecturer is Professor Geoff Meyer. He is currently teaching at the School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology at the University of Western Australia (UWA). As a leading anatomy and histology expert he is also coordinating the Federative International Program for Anatomical Terminologies (FIPAT) of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). Besides medical research on the ovarian function, steroidogenesis, corpus luteum, angiogenesis, and microcirculation, Geoff Meyer’s research activities also focus on developing innovative, computer-aided learning and teaching tools. For his inventiveness, Geoff Meyer has received a number of awards, including the Australian University Teaching Award.

correction at 7:00 - mesoderm develops into mesenchyme*** not mesenchyme to mesoderm

Do some extra research on that because he was correct. mesenchyme develops into mesoderm, while mesoderm can give rise to other tissues like bone, muscle, etc

H&E vey tough to distinguish as all are red Weigert- elastin is dark blue Muscle is light red and collagen is dark Masson-green is collagen brownny red is muscle Gomori- collagen is blue. muscle is red.elastin is white Silver- reticular fibers Collagen fibers are based on their thickness and strength the 1 being the thickest and strongest and 3 being the weakest The Reticular fibers have more sugar molecules than the collagen and elastin and are most abundant in lymph nodes. The Reticular fibers are most seen in silver stain

macrophages for examples, cells that are not fixed in tissue, and go trough blood, as i said monocytes for example
