A quick google search explained why Super Mario All Stars looks... like that. Short story is... the pirates put the wrong mapper in the cartridge. For those who don't know a mapper is a bit on the cartridge that gives your hardware various upgrades. Including more cartridge space. I assume the cartridge tries to read the graphics from the wrong area BTW, apparently if hold A and press Up there is a secret fifth game.

I think the super Mario all stars was a fan made rom that was just super broken here. I wouldn't blame the creators as this was probably stolen.
