I think that was stronger standalone song than Wild Youth, but honestly not sure if it would’ve done any better. I like it, but the first half is pretty repetitive at points

i don't think it would have qualified considering how strong the semi was but i would have preferred her because i cant stand wild youth

Would have gotten more than just 10 points in the semi, and she wouldn't have been a sore l8ser as Wild Youth after non qualifying.

I still think Wild Youth were a better choice. Although I liked Midnight Summer Night, I don't think sending it forward for Eurovision would've changed the result. I get Molly Sterling vibes from this entry. Quality song but a very inexperienced performer who just wouldn't have been popular with the televote. There are massive, massive problems at RTE with regards to national scandals, time, money and resources. We're not getting quality songs submitted, there appears to be very little interest in the contest and our national final is possibly the worst of the whole year. RTE are also hopeless at promoting the songs selected for Eurosong. Ireland will be NQ'ing for a long, long time unless there's either a complete fluke or a drastic change.
