When I first saw Bedard highlights I thought he just had a crazy good shot, then looking a little closer is saw his IQ. Seriously, off the charts IQ. Can't wait to see him in the show.

I know it doesn’t look like it right now but I think in a few years (maybe 5), if he keeps practicing, he may be able to play in a professional league somewhere. Maybe even the AHL. Keep going for it kid!

There’s a lot of players like him that never get a look because they play at tier 2 and tier 3 and don’t have the connections or the $ to move on it’s sad to see kids with soooo much talent get politically taken out of the game 🤷🏽♂️

Happens in all sports everywhere. It’s not luck to be good, but you do need some good fortune to get the right kind of exposure and get on the right teams. It is what it is. Not saying I’m pro caliber, but I went through it in my playing days. Parents didn’t have the money or connections to get me on the right elite teams in the offseason, plus they didn’t party and fraternize with coaches and other parents. I don’t know if that’s just hockey, but that kind of thing is prevalent. Kids get shut out if their parents aren’t in the right crowd. It’s a weird sport.
@AllDayShorts2472 ай бұрын
It’s very true, but if you’re good enough those things won’t matter! Everyone hated my dad, he was loud and opinionated. He knew what he was talking about, but the other parents and coaches didn’t like him. My brother was good, but not good enough, and he would always get cut from the AA rep teams. I was never cut, because I was “very” good. Too good to cut. If I wasn’t as good as I was I’d be in the same boat. I feel bad for my brother looking back because it wasn’t like he was much worse than me, but being two years older he wasn’t a “top” player in his age group so it was easier to cut him…. We both played AAA Team Okanagan super series. I was ranked 2nd in BC for my birth year and played Team BC super series. But in the end, it got me nowhere because I lost any drive I had. Nothing to do with politics at that point!

100% agree, “too small” doesn’t exist now like it used to. Being small just means a harder path, and a different play style, but look at the league, Hughes is best in points he’s “smaller” now its the bedard show. Being too small doesn’t change a thing
