Great home theater Connor. Tapped Horns can produce some massive bass even when using a single 12" sub due to bass waves being long and adding the long "port" allows for maximum output at the peak of the bass wave. Super clean setup. Nicely done sir.

I love seeing these tours. Never thought some of these things could happen in one's home not too many years ago. Just changing to a decent projector from a TV & getting a solid 7.1 system was an amazing upgrade for our previous apartments. Now I'm in the planning stages for more in our new house. Just getting finances in order. Got to balance theater stuff w/ PC builds & my motorcycle. :)

@@connorj6580 You should put a spl mic in your theatre an see what #'s that thing puts out. My truck does a 148.9 with 2 15's. My mini van did a 150.3 with 8 12's. I'm building an eerily similar sized and configured theater now... wondering if that screen size is right though... I had been looking at 120-ish... 150 seems a bit big for that depth room.. Since you were in the room and watching different media (movie vs. gaming, etc), was it comfortable? I have had 120" screens in the past, but 'modern' projectors are also A LOT nicer these days haha. That riser though... Better not show this to my wife haha
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 4 жыл бұрын
I think it’s great! I think distance is a very subjective thing. There are “rules” such as you should be 3 x the height of the screen away but it’s not a hard and fast rule. U can always get your projector and test the different sizes without getting the screen and then buy a size that your comfortable with just projecting on the wall.

I've felt that when sitting at the back it is perfect and would feel short changed if it were much smaller. However on the front row, it's definitely too big, watch able and enjoyable but too big. Considering 95% of the time there's no one at the front, I'm happy with the choice

One day when I have my own house, I really am gonna do the same, right now I have a very cheap mini home theater, I have a Logitech z-5500 for the sound system, I honestly love the sound from it, I’ve had tower systems before with a dedicated receiver, but for what I have in my apartment now it’s decent, but yes I will do the same when I get a chance

Why the RP504C with the R-820F's? Would it not be better to get the RP-8000F's combined with that RP504C? Just asking guys because I bought a RP504C and i'm looking for towers. My room is even smaller tho. 3 meter x 6 meter and 1 row with 2 seats.
@connorj6580
@connorj6580 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it would be better to get the RP8000's however it was outside my price range so I decided to 'upgrade' the centre channel to the premier line for better vocals
@TheDanmanguy
@TheDanmanguy 4 жыл бұрын
Really nice set up! How do you find the audio between the RP 504c and the R820f towers? I’m thinking about doing the same thing. Is there a big noticeable difference in sound quality between those speakers?
@connorj6580
@connorj6580 4 жыл бұрын
To my untrained ears not at all, but I'm sure the audiophiles would disagree. I didn't want to splash out on reference premier all around but knew the centre was very important so wanted a bit better there, plus aesthetics played their part too
@TheDanmanguy
@TheDanmanguy 4 жыл бұрын
Connor J thanks for the reply. I guess the next question would be is there much of a difference between the RP-504c vs something like the R-52c which is what I have. Huge price difference between those two speakers.

What projector did he use for the gaming side i see zero lag
@connorj6580
@connorj6580 2 жыл бұрын
Same projector Optoma UHD60, no noticeable lag for most games, I do notice I lose more gun fights than I should in fast paced COD games when seeing the killcam. But when I play it seems great. Main issue is when I look around quickly, things are a bit blurry until I stop, then it's crisp again. Doesn't bother me too much, still prefer playing on the big screen than my TV downstairs and happy to give up a little of the competitive edge for immersion

Build Montage with the way the room is, he has to put those speaker on the ceiling pointed down, he essentially has 8 Atmos speaker because of it. I’m not hating, just saying if he was able to place the tweeters of the surround and rear speakers 1-2ft above his ears, it would sound way better... or just get speaker stands.
