I've been a lifeguard for 4 years, at a waterpark then city pools. Connor, please tell me you or your headguard eventually had these birthday kids do a swim test before they go play and Put lifejackets on the ones who failed. Also I agree that lifeguards do get a lot of neglectful parents who think of us as glorified babysitters and sometimes parents don't even bring their own swimsuit.

That is such bad parenting. Even after turning 21 and I know how to swim, my parents always make sure and ask "You know how to swim?" and I would tell yes and they would tell "Don't go near deep ends".

So I've had a surprising amount of friends/coworkers that were lifeguards. Funny thing is is that most of them dont look the part. Such as one of them is super short so I can only imagine her struggling to save a kid. But yeah, they told me their experiences and its seems like nothing much happens. Its just alot of supervising, blowing whistles, warning kids/parents, looking after dumb kids, cleaning and then for the ones that worked at waterparks. They had to move station to station every 5-15 minutes. If anything, alot nasty stuff happens

Speaking of obstacles course during high school when gym class started gymnastic our school would bring really tall and big gymnastic obstacle that took up the whole gym. It was so scary everything went through it which we had to do until the bell rang for next class. So literally going in circles going on this big gymnastic equipment which you can really hurt yourself on I don't think enough to break a bone but probably twist or dislocated something.
