The reason the names in The Black Cauldron are Welsh is because the author of the book the movie was based on is part Welsh. A significant number of names in the original book and then the movie are Welsh and it's wild that Connor 1. remembered the names and 2. was able to use it to answer a question. I watched the movie AND read the book and just flat-out didn't retain that info. For a dude we call 'Monkey', Connor is astonishingly big-brained sometimes.

The Black Cauldron is the second book in a series called the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander, and it's _highly_ steeped in Welsh mythology. I highly recommend checking the series out, because it's quite good!
