first, excellent presentation/teaching skills. second, where have you been for 50 years? i fell and broke my coccyx when i was 14. i felt all along that my hips were thrown out of alignment. it was painful, so muscles began to lock in the lower back, then upper back over time, then 2 episodes of not being able to walk for 6 months to limping for 3 years with sciatica... it's been fun. 23 years ago i started recovering by strengthening and stretching. i've come such a long way. finding your vids have been the icing on the cake and help me over the hump to real physical health, supple and strong, 'ease' not 'disease.' cheers...

I have this issue but on the opposite side (right AIC pattern). I understand that this isn’t common and I’ve gone to chiropractors, physical therapists and hip surgeons who don’t believe me. Ive wasted so much money trying to resolve this. When you talked about the foot… my right foot is flat and is how you described it. I fell asleep on my left side but with my right leg internally rotated at a 90 degree angle for hours. Woke up in pain years ago and now my right leg is internally rotated in a funky way. I will try these exercises and pray they work! Thank you so much!! 🙏🏽

This video is one of the most informative clips I’ve seen and I’ve been researching how to fix tight left hip flexor, groin and very limited internal rotation on my left side. I was a right handed pitcher and played up until I was 33 years old then I got into teaching baseball and am still going at age 52. Over the past 6 months I’ve been dealing with hip and groin pain. Doctors deemed it hip arthritis and have given me injections and meds hoping that will put off having a hip replacement. I’ve noticed in photos my right shoulder drops lower than my left and I do “cave into” my left side. My head is even slightly off center to the right and my spine is slightly curved as your demo showed. I could tell immediate relief from this exercises. I will continue to do them hoping they will eliminate my pain enough to where I don’t have to have surgery. We’ll explained too btw. You don’t race through like others.

Hallelujah! Thank you for explaining this! I ride horses and this asymmetry is causing my pelvis to ask them in one direction, yet my shoulders/hands for another. This makes my horse nose go to the right, but ribs and body to drift left! It's like constantly asking them to side pas to the left, when all I want is straight & forward! Then add chronic pain in my neck, shoulders, ribs and right low back and you have a mess, LOL! I can't wait to start these exercises, as you are the first to really explain the structural and movement pattern disfunction in a way I can visualize and feel in my body! Its one thing to see it in another person, but in your own body, it feels like body dyslexia when trying to isolate which muscles to strengthen and which to lengthen. Thank you!!!!

I have spent the last 1.5 years trying to fix my issues with my walking gait, left hip pain, and recently lower left back pain. Multiple visits with different PTs and no luck. I am a mail carrier for USPS and walk 1-15 miles a day and mostly carry a satchel over my left should cross body so it sits on my right hip. I have noticed i was putting most of my weight onto my left leg and my right leg would stay further back to make room for my satchel. It feels like my left leg cant extend back as far as my right leg, left hip impinges when deep squatting, right knee pain etc. I have everything that you described in this video other than my right arch actually wants to collapse some. I have high arches in both feet. Thank you so much for this video! You have no clue how relieved I am to have this information and start working to gain my life and mobility back!!

This video literally had me gasping throughout the entire first half (that twisted skeleton in the beginning is literally what I look like lol)... I've been dealing with daily pelvis and back pain since 2014 (I'm in my 20s now by the way...). In 2020 I realized that my entire body was crooked (at that point I could barely walk let alone do anything else) so I started doing fascia training and worked on some weak muscles which helped a lot and gave instant relief! Now I'm at a point where I can actually work out without pinching any nerves after one minute of moving around but I could see that there were still lots of things off... still can't run without being in pain after a few steps, often getting a sharp pain in the right side of my pelvis and pretty bad knee pain in my right knee and my legs fall asleep randomly (+ still pinching the nerve around my right scapula which is still winging a little). Yesterday I realized that my entire pelvis (or torso, really) was rotated in a weird way (I can literally see the iliac crest sticking out on the left side of my back like a weird hump - first I thought it was a lump of fat but it's not - and my belly button is way off center lol) so I started to check which muscles were weak on which side... today I decided to look for some exercises that can help me fix this, at first I was worried I wouldn't be able to find anything but then I found this video! Just did all of the exercises twice in a row and boy... now it feels really weird when I walk, which is a good sign, haha! Will definitely keep doing these + some other muscle strengthening stuff and hope for the best! Even if I don't end up completely "straight" I hope I can finally get rid of that nasty pain! Thanks for the video! (side note: There's nothing wrong with my body, it's healthy and everything, I've just been dealing with bad posture every since I was a little kid which over the years led to all kinds of problems)

If only everyone knew about this… I’ve been so heavily patterned that my organs have shifted. So much so that when I get into true left stance, I can feel it compressing my heart and stomach and I get acid reflux. Hopefully I can fully open my posterior mediastinum one day and this won’t happen. But for some people, yes you may feel some new sensations inside your ribs and pelvis. Don’t get freaked out! Your organs are designed to be compressed and they can take it! You are literally rearranging your body in order to move better!

I've been trying to fix my posture for years. Some exercises and stretches worked, some didn't. None of them gave me lasting results. The pain in my right knee, right hip and left shoulder persisted. My strength was limited. It never occured to me that these issues are connected and indicate a total body compensation problem. At first I was sceptical about the type of exercises presented here, as they are very different from what I was used to. However, they give instantenous results. If you match the left AIC pattern, I highly recommend performing the assesment before and after doing the exercises. Personally, the exercises make me go from total assymetry to perfect symmetry in the assesment. Now I just have to do the exercises long enough to get lasting results.

This is exactly what I’ve been suffering from for nearly 20 years… I’ve been constantly dwelling for hours a day about hanging myself and this one of the main reasons. I’m scared to try these exercise’s because nothing has worked in the past after years of trial and error searching for my answer. It’s a pretty complex problem. I hope these exercises work. I’ve already pretty much given up a long time ago….. it limits me from living a normal life and stops me from doing my passion of just going to the gym and being comfortable in my own body.

There is always hope! Don't let fear hold you back from trying what could be the answer - or at least get you closer to finding some relief. I just found this video today after years of being giving up hope frustrated with the same issue for years. We've gotta believe it can change - the human body is an incredible machine and capable of so much adaptation if we find the right thing. Hope you've been trying them out and that they are helping.

I feel the exact same way. Was a skinny guy and gained muscle and it made me really confident now this problem came up and prevented me from training properly. I’ve lost a ton of weight because I can’t train and I’ve been highly suicidal as well. Did this help you at all?

@@AYYYLMAOOOOOBrooo same, was in college, desk job and in the gym. Gained a little muscle, was feeling good one day messed up and a year later after crazy pain i'm feeling better. I would suggest to do the assesments first and don't neglect anything, your neck and jaw are probably affected too, feet as well. I would suggest the exercises for left aic right BC pattern and the neck ones but then strengthen those muscles with resistance bands or light weights. As I understand these "drills" expand or stretch your muscles, pecs, lats giving them more range of motion so you should strengthen them as soon as possible. You'll get your mobility back but remember it's a compensation game, you'll have to match your push, pull and squat and hinge strength. And when I said not to neglect anything is because forgetting something might hinder your progress especially on hip internal rotation. Hope it helps bro.

I totally understand how you feel. After going to see doctors, physio therapists and being told that this is never going to go away you kind of give up. I too became sedentary, especially the past 3-4 years and became depressed. I’ve been determined to never go the medicated route. Two months ago my doctor got me to try this anti inflammatory pill. It, along with finding the right physiotherapists online, I have started some exercises and slowly working on my hip. Thank you Conor and AK.

Interesting. What you are talking about greatly affects my everyday life. I'm a quadriplegic so sitting all day has shortened muscles and twisted my pelvis even more so, affecting any mobility that I might have. I have the ability to practice standing and walking and improve my injury but this issue has basically crippled me even more than I already am. I live in Florida, if there was someone with your knowledge that could help me I know I could reach my mobility potential. Please let me know if you recommend anyone in Florida, thank you.

Just struck me, something I’ve never considered, when you hinge the left ilium away in the pattern, other pri practioners always gave the impression that the whole pelvis moved as one. Your model shows the sacrum, si joint and ilium on the ‘affected’ side being moved. Is the model over emphasising the opening up of the si joint? I’m told it can’t move much? It’s so hard to compare theory to an actual model you realise it’s like night and day in 3 dimensions.

Thank you for this information. I haven't started these exercises yet though I have a strong suspicion that I have this Left AIC Pattern going on. I'm wondering whether there is anything one can do in day to day life while standing, turning 90 degrees (happens often in a kitchen), walking, sitting, sleeping, etc., to make it more a lifestyle change. Unfortunately I don't have a free wall as I live in a smaller apartment, and all your exercises require a wall. 🙂 Thank you!

Hey! Love the way you explain things. Have had a question for a long time, I know you talk about assymetry / diaphragm size etc… is this pattern developed because of the assymetry first; that then makes us breathe incorrectly? Or are we breathing incorrectly which in term puts us into this pattern? The obvious answer seems to be both, but I’m confused because no one who teaches it stresses the difference enough. Much appreciated man!

Driving a car for long hours causes this. Takes a while for it to self correct too. I gave my drivers license up in Feb. 2022 and Im only now noticing feeling back in my pelvic floor. My posture is getting back to square without doing anything except sitting in a recliner and inline skating a few miles every week. Wish I found this a year ago.
