Conquest shows up late in Miami

Carnival Conquest arrived hours late and departed hours late. The dock report had this information on late arrival stating that Conquest needed to temporarily drop a life boat to make a davit repair. Both Carnival Conquest and Oasis of the Seas departed late, after 10pm.

Azipods (or azimuth thrust pods). They can turn independently of a rudder while providing thrust.

Sure looked like Oasis cut it pretty close to the Virgin ship when it turned around at 1:35. A lot closer than any of the other ships.

All i can say is very skilled. I Piloted ships for over 7 years and it's just amazing how they maneuver the ships within the small space they have available.

The key is two fold both azipods for the main propellers and large banks of bow thrusters. They can move these things sideways which in itself is impressive

Hello. I had just disembarked from the Norwegian Encore on the 19 of Nov. We sailed from San Francisco to Miami via Panama Canal. Me and my family had a great time onboard. I'm so surprised and glad this was recorded! :D

Why do the Virgin ships spin counter clockwise in the turning basin vs just pulling out of the slip and turning right / heading out towards the ocean?

I was on this ship. The carnival conquest. When we were boarding the ship, they were running super behind. Supposed to board at 12:30 but then due to delay we had to board at 3:30 pm but we didn’t get on the ship till like 7:30 bc of the Huge line

I was wathcing this live Sunday morning. It was about 10 a.m. local time. Usually, you can barely perceive that the ships are moving across the horizon. She came in hot and didn't shut it down until the second that she hit the no wake zone.

November 19 arrivals. We were on Oceania Vista which docked on the other side of the port. Smaller 1250 passenger ship. It can barely be seen in the right side of the video at the beginning.

Its so funny all the other ships are just letting out mass amount of smoke and the carnival ships are being good little boys and barely letting out any smoke at all.

Watching from Australia I am amazed that no one uses tugboats. Every cruise ship from Seabourn Odyssey to Ovation OTS here uses a tugboat or two and it's not as tight as this!

What are the two Royal Caribbean's burning? The stack emissions don't appear to be diesel. I could be wrong, just curious.

None of them burn diesel. They burn bunker fuel. It's a heavy fuel oil with a tar like consistency at room temperature. Very high energy density.

Why does all the ships turn left , after leaving the The Port Of Miami , instead of turning right ?

They have to follow the dredged shipping channel out before going in the direction of their destination otherwise they will run aground on the sea bottom.

Notice the carnival ships don’t pollute near as much as the other brands. Ridiculous how much smoke out of Royal ships……

Yup,. The Town Crier'S will make it so that either regulation and Green Laws will either shut this operation down or continue to impose higher costs so only the most wealthy can afford. I really appreciate you pointing out how filthy everything is.... How about the several billion cars and industries. Oh that's right electric cars are being forced on us so we can pay even higher costs for a throw away vehicle that can die in middle of the mountains with no charge stations all the time paying more for electricity so the power companies can try to pull magic rabbits that don't exist out for us all to pay more. I could write a hundred pages and it would fall on deaf ears and eyes. but the town criers will continue to ruin everything that's left and take the rest of everything away so we have to work harder and pay more for less just so the tree huggers have a say. Will not engage any further.
