Today, we are will tell you about not-so-glamorous side of living in Bali. While this island paradise has many amazing qualities, it's important to be aware of its downsides before making the leap. In this video, we will discuss some of the cons you should know before you pack your bags for Bali.
Issue #1: Pollution
Despite Bali's reputation as an eco-friendly destination, air and plastic pollution are real concerns. From smog-filled streets to plastic waste, we talk about challenges of pollution on this beautiful island and ways we can work towards a cleaner, greener future.
Issue #2: Traffic 🚗🚦
Getting around in Bali isn't always smooth sailing. Traffic can be chaotic and time-consuming, with the island's narrow roads and a lack of public transportation. We share our experiences with Bali's traffic and offer some practical tips for navigating it.
Issue #3: Too Laidback and Lazy
Bali's laidback lifestyle can be both a blessing and a curse. While it's fantastic for relaxation, it can sometimes be difficult to stay motivated and productive.
Issue #4: Bad Walkability
If you love strolling around your neighborhood, Bali might not be the perfect fit. With its uneven sidewalks and busy streets, walkability can be a challenge. We talk about the limitations of walking in Bali and offer some alternative ways to get around.
Issue #5: Not a Beach Destination
Surprisingly, Bali isn't all about pristine beaches. While it has some beautiful spots, many of its beaches are crowded or not well-maintained. We will discuss the reality of Bali's beach scene.

When I use to visit Bali for 4-6 months during the winter I use to jog on the beach. By January/February there were so much trash on the beach I quit running on Kuta/Seminyak beach because there were piles and heaping piles of trash, like 5 meters high, and I got tired of having to jog around them and jumping over trees that had washed up. The trash that washes upon the beaches is insane. They don’t have a good system which takes care of the trash. The ppl from Bali blame it on Java, saying that Java throws their trash into the ocean and the current brings it to Bali. Either way, it’s still Indonesia as a country that hasn’t resolved their trash issue.

Hello from CA. Happy 2u in Bali! Best dentists are in Java, esp in Yogya & Surabaya. Bali has breathtaking scenery, ancient Hindu temples, phenomenal food with Balinese culture permeating every aspect of life on the island but walking or strolling to it is long gone! Looking forward 2 more stories!

If I sign up to the gym, it may take up to 30 minutes to go 2 miles, but I can’t walk there instead because there’s no sidewalks?

When I had my teeth cleaned by dentist in Bali, out of pocket, it cost 300,000 IDR in 2015. My r teeth hurt four days afterwards because they used some type of spinning tool and it took my enamel off.

After staying for long periods in Bali, your comments are 100% correct in my opinion and should be taken into consideration when contemplating a long stay…. The current climate of expansion will work against the island of the gods to make it into the island of paradise lost in its determination to copy the worst of western expansion plasticised with watered down culture

@@jayandalina maybe you can spearhead an environmental hygiene campaign in Bali, I'm sure it will go viral on social media because you are a foreign tourist who also cares about environmental cleanliness. 😁

I am sad to see all the youtuber just know to pinpoint the problem but not to contribute the solutions. how about contributes one or two of your vacation/working day to do the garbage collection? How about adding cleaning tax to the visa entry fee? This fee would provide the work to local. What is your solution?
