Consciousness is the great bug-bear of materialists because consciousness is not material; it is spiritual. Consciousness is a spiritual entity that materialists continue to search for but will never find. But where is consciousness and is it the same as the soul?

I would recommend Ibn Tufayl's book, Hayy Ibn Yaqzan, he provides a similar position as Justin Barrett, that a human all by themselves would reach the conclusion of God. But he tells it as a story

subhanAllah. That was very informative. I work in the domain of artificial intelligence. as the field is dominated by people with naturalistic worldview, they are also having the same conversations as if AI can be conscious. Alhumdulillah for Islam, we can connect all the dots. I am working on a framework on how to understand the intersection of AI, Fitrah, Consciousness and Islamic theology by building upon the work of ibn taymiyyah InshaAllah will share with the world once ready.
