Of course, although WW1 showed the result of underestimating machine gun fire, it also *overestimated* the effect of artillery; the marching across No Man's Land usually followed tube artillery barrages that were supposed to cut the wires and other fortifications as well as decimate opposition troops Still, it's not as if some militaries have repeated that mistake, or believed that air power could do the same, so we don't see military strategists believing a good shelling or bombing will make the infantry's job a cakewalk like that at Monte Casino, Korea or Viet Nam

The problem with modern games is that they take longer to develop and require more funds than they used to so if they try new ideas they'd risk much more than they used to, that being said indie games seem to be doing well with the innovation part

If the snipers were spread out in a straight line it would be benefit the conscripts to group up in one giant clump so they can take the line out part by part. Also eight times is still a lot. Those veteran conscripts with their improved speed were already ranging the snipers before they shot six times. Elite snipers gain the edge again because self-heal makes them more durable while they still one-shot an elite conscript.

yeah it's really weird. I'd like to see it again. Why do you think it is so different? maybe the sniper has a slower rate of fire and the conscripts have a faster speed?

@@SlumberBear2k Elite snipers receive a massive boost to rate of fire so RoF should be the main factor here.

@@SlumberBear2k sniper veterans have increased damage more than health or attack speed, which isn't very useful against Conscripts. This means that in terms of killing power, it is little more than normal. Meanwhile Conscript veterans do significantly more damage, more than the health increase snipers get from veterancy, and so are simply able to clear the snipers faster. Plus, Conscripts achieve max rank FAR more easily than snipers, and each one of those does even moar damage, and the move faster. But max rank for snipers gives them a HUGE attack speed buff. Still, apparently a max rank Conscript can survive a max ranked sniper shot, so which one wins is very much based on pathing, it seems.

Veteran unit gets a 10% attack power increase and a whopping 50% HP increase. The 50% increase to conscript HP allow them to take 2 sniper shot instead of one. Veteran unit also gets 20% rate of fire; but that's not enough for snipers to win. As others said, elite snipers get a huge ROF increase.

All units get the same boost. The reason the veteran conscripts do so well against the snipers is the speed boost part. The snipers get less shots off.

Maybe they will have more heath. But if Sniping IFVs kite the Conscripts then IFV will win.

In a same cost battle, conscripts will do better. A sniper IFV is twice to cost for only a fraction of the benefits
