Just remembered, there is also Stigmata with Gabriel Byrne (great) and Patricia (I think) Arquette. Not exactly in the Vatican but he is a Vatican priest who investigate (translation - debunk) miracles. I enjoyed it. It had two alternate endings in the video release I believe. I’ll have to dig it out now

You should check Malaysian and Turkish horror. They're not short on that. Then again, Islam is not one big institution like Catholic. Actually closer to Evangelicals. I exclude Indonesian horror since they're more on local beliefs than Islam.

There actually is one that I know of. It’s called The Objective. Besides, if they were going to make a real horror movie about the Catholic Church, it would cover, the Crusades, the Doctrine of Discovery, and the Inquisition.
