Күн бұрынChart-topping rock bands The Pretty Reckless and Evanescence are both back with new albums, Death by Rock and Roll and The Bitter Truth, respectively. In celebration of the two releases, frontwomen Taylor Momsen and Amy Lee came together via Zoom to discuss their new LPs and much more for Consequence's new artist-on-artist interview series "Peer 2 Peer".
Upon logging on for the Zoom chat, the two singers caught up on their personal lives, with Momsen checking in from Maine, and Lee at her new home in Nashville. The two bands had toured together roughly 10 years ago, around the same time Evanescence released their last proper studio album.
With both albums now out in the world, watch Taylor Momsen and Amy Lee engage in a thought-provoking conversation about their new music, life during the pandemic, and much more in the video above. Note: Amy's internet connection was a bit choppy, resulting in her video freezing throughout, but her audio is loud and clear.

I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about how long it takes between evanescence albums, but the thing a lot of these “fans” don’t seem to understand is you guys are always busy with solo work. Evanescence is not the kind of band that makes albums on a regular basis the same way other bands do. You get together and make an album and then you guys are busy doing another project but you’re always making something, together or individually, and it’s always fantastic. Personally I never cared how long it took, each album is absolutely amazing. And I follow your solo work as well and I love all of it

Yeah like it may have taken a while between albums escpecially this time but at the same time amy alone was also working on solo stuff plus synthesis they were all reworking old stuff so its almost like writing new stuff for older stuff. It seems everyone always introduces the bitter truth with something like the first album in 1000000 years like theyre offended lol

I was introduced to TPR from the self titled Evanescence tour. She walked on in underpants, a white shirt and knee high boots, started to rock and that was me hooked. One of my most listened to bands now.

Such an epic interview! I was so lucky to see them tour together live with Evanescence’s last album - these women are amazing and so glad to see they are friends to this day! Would be amazing to hear Amy on a TPR song!

thank you both, always loved evanesance, but when i heard death by rock and roll on the radio a month ago, i was like who is this?! i dont know how i never heard of pretty reckless or halestorm until now! ive been binging all three bands on youtube and its been something so great to take my mind of covid and my work in a retirement home!

Love both albums, I was lucky that Evanescence came to my home town of Sofia in Bulgaria in September 2019. The show was amazing, watched the recording of it 2 days ago again :)

This is a really good interview. :) I enjoyed the peer to peer aspect where it's not just interviewer / interviewee, but both parties can mirror and bounce back off of each other because both have been at some point in the exact same shoes as each other; to know and understand what its like as similar artists in this industry.

I heard of pretty reckless and listened to them a couple times and somehow forgot about them. I have a bad habit of listening to the same stuff over and over again. Now I am going to listen to them at least one more time.

Taylor (pretty reckless) has good songs, but very questionable image. These two are not even comparable. Amy is a legend. Both have good taste in music tho.

Ohhhhhh WoW my 2 favorite singers in the Rock & Roll industry. The Female Voice in Rock & Roll has been so underused & appreciated. I remember looking up the word, “ Evanescence “! Even at my “Experienced” Age, I’d never heard it. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🍾 Young ladies. Taylor the new cuts I’ve heard are,,,, so,,,,, you’ve “GrownUp”expanded as a human being. In my opinion 2 of the most influential women in rock/heavy metal today old school meets new school in a way theses 2 women i respect the hell out of and there body of work is amazing love the new evanescence album as the new pretty reckless album I fully agree we need a Evanescence and The Pretty Reckless tour with HaleStorm too that to me is a dream tour that I would love to see we need more videos like this :)

Do it like a hybrid of Britney Spears's Break the Ice and Korns Freak On a Leash or something...then it solves a few of those restriction issues and gives artist's work during the pandemic ☺️ Just a thought

They talk over each other too much at parts and it makes it hard to understand, but they aren't professional interviewers so can't complain too much. Overall a neat little interview =]

Ev's new album is just crushing TPR's album, I do enjoy both bands, but Amy is a much better composer and the guitar riffs of the bitter truth, omg they are the best. Puting the 2 releases side by side, Ev superpass the other.

The Pretty Reckless have many many amazing songs, lyrics and vocals. They are powerful and tell a story. I think they are both great in their own way, very different sounds.

@@rebeka145 if you listen to the conversation it’s clear they are friends, The Pretty Reckless opened the Evanescence American and European tour in 2011 and they obviously keep in touch ever since. Amy even promoted the 25 music video when it was out. I think woman can express their creativity however they want, slut-shaming belongs in the last century honey
