Just picked up my new Santa Fe Hybrid, and while the ride is smooth, there are some features missing that left me disappointed. The reviews showcasing all those bells and whistles? Most likely focused on the top-of-the-line Calligraphy edition. I went with a more budget-friendly hybrid trim (SE or SEL), and it's lacking in some creature comforts I expected. Here's a glimpse of what I found lacking: Limited Storage: Finding decent-sized compartments for everyday items proved tricky. Manual Passenger Seat: The passenger seat lacks power adjustments, which can be a drawback for some. No Panoramic Views: Forget the sunroof or a fancy glass roof - this trim level doesn't offer them. Glove Compartment Shortcomings: The glove compartment itself is tiny, and the additional compartment above it barely fits your hand. Limited Cargo Visibility: The lights in the back don't provide enough illumination to see things clearly when looking through the rear hatch. Missing Essentials: To my surprise, even basic floor mats weren't included in this trim level. Sunglass Struggle: There wasn't even a dedicated drop-down compartment for sunglasses, something even my older 2012 Pilot had! And More: These are just a few of the inconveniences I noticed. There are many more features that make this base trim feel a bit lacking compared to the higher-end options, or even some older cars. Lesson Learned: Definitely do your research on the specific Santa Fe trim level's features before buying, including even seemingly standard items like floor mats and sunglass holders. Hopefully, this heads-up helps others avoid a similar surprise!

And what did you expect, Sir? If you choose a cheaper trim, this absolutely makes sense!

Why buy it then, you get what you pay for, surely you knew what you were buying or what spec. You do not get premium when you purchase budget!

It’s like a Range Rover for half the price which I love. Just have to get a calligraphy hybrid because the lower trim levels are cheaped out on and hybrid because the gasoline transmission seems to be problematic.

Smooth Ride, Disappointing Features: A Budget-Friendly Santa Fe Hybrid Review The Santa Fe Hybrid offers a comfortable ride, but be warned: lower trims (SE/SEL) lack features you might expect. Reviews raving about all the bells and whistles likely focused on the top-of-the-line Calligraphy edition. Here's what surprised me most about the budget-friendly trims: Storage Woes: Finding decent-sized compartments for everyday items proved a challenge. The glove compartment is tiny, barely fitting a single hand. Forget a dedicated sunglass holder - this Santa Fe lacks even basic conveniences my older car had! Missing Conveniences: The passenger seat lacks power adjustments, which some might find inconvenient. No sunroof or panoramic roof for that open-air feel in this trim level. The cargo light is dim, making nighttime trunk access a struggle. Shockingly, even basic floor mats are missing. Parking Woes with the Back Door: This might be a dealbreaker for some city dwellers. Unlike most SUVs with hatchbacks, the Santa Fe's back door hinges at the top. Great for maximizing headroom when using the cargo area as a makeshift seat, but terrible for tight parking situations. This upward-opening design requires significant vertical space to fully access the cargo area. Park too close behind another car, and forget about easily opening the back door. Adding to the frustration, there's no separate back window to access the cargo area from the outside. This means you can't reach in to grab smaller packages or forgotten items without fully opening the entire door. Lessons Learned: Research every aspect of your chosen Santa Fe trim level before buying. Don't assume "standard" features are included on all trims. Consider aftermarket accessories like cargo organizers, floor mats, and a sunglass holder to enhance functionality. Final Thoughts: The SE/SEL Santa Fe Hybrid offers a good value, but be aware of the missing conveniences compared to higher trims or other vehicles. This review aims to help future buyers avoid the surprises I encountered.

No, wrong, Hyundai pronounced Hy-un-dai, you people in the USA and Canada are doing what we Aussies do a lot by shortening words. You need to say it right. Oh yes Love the Santa Fe.

junk transmissions folks , do your homework . You are gonna need that warranty . Stay away .

Do YOUR homework as well. The DCT on the gasoline model is a problem yes. The hybrid uses a different transmission.

Looking into this car and thanks for the heads up. The base trim is woeful actually. The Calligraphy is amazing. I'm eyeing the mid trim Elite (Australia) and simply wish it had a sunroof option.

Thank you for your comment. I will consider the points you mentioned in my next videos. I agree with you, when talking about the features of a new car, it is necessary to examine the disadvantages.

Overall I'm happy with the car, I just feel it's important for a buyer to understand what they're getting when purchasing a lower trim. I wish I had gotten the limited edition. JMHO
