My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.
All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to in injury and dartitis in my right arm.
I may on occasion use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation (The B.D.O). These are used under fair use legislation and all credit should be given the rightful creators.

Well done. Mervyn King is probably the best example of this method. He's got such a smooth rhythm and has been at the top for nearly three decades now.

I've tried that grip so many times, each time I just drop the dart or it flies off to wherever I dont want it to. I'll give it a go, again, tomorrow, well explained and demonstrated mate, thank you.

As a new player (2 months in), I'm struggling and experimenting with consistency. I found your video and gave it a shot. Now, instead of just keeping my fingers fully locked in the dart, I cock the dart ever so slightly before the release, essentially keeping the dart in line with the target. Sometimes my darts will twist and enter the board at an odd angle, or sometimes they release pointing up to make a parabolic curve and entering the board at a higher angle than I'd like. But when it works and the feeling is spot on, it feels really good. I guess I have more practice cut out for me. Love your videos, you're such a good teacher.

Play at least 3 years. You can start talk about consistency then

Love your fantastic content,please keep it up. Personally I don’t turn the dart at all when pulling it back or even when thrusting it forward. Is that ok ?

I always lick my fingers and sometimes use condensation off my cold drink as well. Get the fingers wet and then slightly blow them warm, you'll see alot of players like whitlock, lowe, greaves and price do the same thing. You can also use wax, chalk, or mighty grip but I dont like the feeling personally.

What would you suggest if you have tried and tested various different styles but end up not knowing which style to use? I have found over the years I have tried all sorts but now I'm undecided which style to use.
@Straightdarts

The simplest styles are the most consistent, alway go back to basic when in doubt 😀 pencil grip suits most players. 😀

Hello, I watch your youtube videos with interest. my question would be about dart selection. Many companies have a lot of arrows.. I am thinking of making a dart field for myself at work. to spend my free time and improve myself. How should the primary dart selection be? Should I choose a straight long dart or a short bullet-shaped arrow? What should the weight be? Would you have a chance to mention a few inexpensive models that you can recommend?
@Straightdarts
@Straightdarts 10 ай бұрын
Hi, :) Between 24g and 22g is a nice weight in the middle that'd most players can use. According to Red Dragon, 22g is the most popular. It's normaly better to start with a straight barrel around 6.5mm wide and 48mm to 50mm long. Having a shorter dart can be helpful if you struggle with the grip but a 23g double ring grip or wide Bristow style grip is somthing most players can work with. :)

I put my third finger under the point and iv'e tried to change grip but it feels so alien to me,i was just wondering if this is hampering me in any way as in flicking the wrist as i'm only short at 5'5 and i have to raise my elbow a bit higher to keep them straight,plus ive only been playing for around 3 months but my average's have gone up from 41 to 51 but its seem's to have plateaued at around 50-51 Great channel very informative Regard's Neil

Make sure you grip the dart with equal pressure each side, your probably push the dart off. And always keep the elbow still. Aim over the dart, lift the wrist rather than the elbow. :)

@Straightdarts
@Straightdarts Жыл бұрын
No, I aways go through with the point facing up. This was example of what some players like to do, it's not important to do it but it's always good to try as you never know what will suite you. Most players will make to point face upward after release causing the darts to stand upright in the dartboard.

@Straightdarts
@Straightdarts Жыл бұрын
You can either spin the dart as you go though on the throw or just keep it normal with a little push off the fingers. :)
