@@CapChronic Well it was concepted in 2011 after all, and hasn’t changed in format since then either. People who like it have always specifically noted how much they enjoy watching it as is, I don’t believe I’ve seen such frequent expressions enjoyment for such a consistent amount of time and it that case why fix what isn’t broken? The viewer retention considering how long the show has been running at this point is really quite remarkable.

I remember when I first got my Genesis, I was completely devastated when I connected it to my parents' old wood cabinet TV. I turned on Sonic the Hedgehog and was welcomed to a bouncing screen. Turned out a modification had to be made to me Genesis to make it work on our old 70's TV set, so it had to be sent back to Sega. It took a month, which was the longest month of my life.
@fredspofford
@fredspofford 3 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened to me but on Christmas morning with the PSX. Had to return it and wait for a different model which still did that then my parents let me have the living room (newer than the one in my room which was an old Zenith and did the jumpy thing) TV and they got a new one. I did play a decent amount of Crash Bandicoot with that unplayable mess though.

My first console was an NES with the mario/duck hunt/track meet cart. It was DOA. Returned it to the local Radio Shack and was given the sports pack with 4 player IR device and super spike vball/NES world cup combo cart. I still play those 2 sports games to this day, even though they are a bit janky. My Genesis came 2 years later and if you sent in the rebate card, you got sonic 2 for free.

The show is just as good without Dave, but so much of the appeal of having Dave around was that you could tell how he and Joe went way back and just enjoyed digging into this stuff together. Both incarnations of the show, with and without Dave, are equally good, but Dave definitely brought something. When Joe says “I think people like secret of mana…” it’s just a good moment. Love you Joe!

The show is not nearly as good without Dave. To deny this would be dishonest. Joe on his own is okay but somehow he became pretty narcissistic since Dave left. The show became more formulaic and rote and lost a lot of its character as well.
