Mont Gee I don't think a movie will work. Don't get me wrong, Dr Strange was okay, but someone like Dr Strange needs time to develop. He should've got a TV series instead. Doctor Fate is the most powerful DC character ever. Someone like Doctor Fate deserves his own TV show. Something like Netflixes Daredevil.Have the show be a part of the DC Extended Universe, and then maybe write other shows like Red Hood, Nightwing and Teen Titans. For the Doctor Fate show, they give us his origin story such has how Kent Nelson met Nabu and was raised as his apprentice, learning the ways of sorcery, magic and the mystic arts. Each episode can focus on Fate growing more powerful, while also following the arc of his archenemy, Wotan, such as his time as a woman, his first major battle with Nabu to him causing chaos. There are also many Doctor Fate villains he could have for a show such as Klarion the Witch Boy, Felix Faust, Mordru, Wizard, etc. But like the Kingpin in Daredevil, we mostly just follow his archenemy instead of these villains I mentioned.

Dorean Lindsey Like I said in my other comment, someone like Doctor Fate needs time to develop due to being the most powerful character ever. They can't just make him the most powerful character straight away. He needs to learn different spells over time. But not only do we follow Kent Nelson's arc, we follow his archenemy's arc too, Wotan. Dr Strange was okay but he was rushed. And someone like him takes time to develop into the most powerful Marvel character. I get people hate following an ongoing series because it drags on forever but like I said, he would need time to develop his character and explain how magic fits into the DC Extended Universe with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Shazam, Green Lantern Corp and the Flash. Then we can make another show like the Defenders called Justice League Dark and bring him as a founding member into the team along with a live action Constantine (A better one), Zatanna, Etrigan, Deadman, Madame Xanadu, Batman and Swamp Thing to help fight supernatural threats.

Swamp Thing is getting his live action series next year but it's set in the Titansverse instead of Arrowverse. It's bad enough that DC split their live action tv universes and movie universes but now it looks like they're splitting up they're live action tv universes even more too which makes things kinda confusing. Kinda wish they did what Marvel did with the MCU and kept the TV and Movie verses together, imo it makes things interesting and more hype when they collab with or mention each other.

what an awesome easter egg that was seeing Dr. Fate's Helmet in Constantine's Possession, it really does beg to ask this: Is Kent Nelson dead in the Arrowverse? and how the heck did Constantine get a hold of it? and I also liked the easter egg of The Skull Shaped Box AKA Pandora's Box. I'm Glad John Constantine was saved and brought into The Arrowverse, shame they cancelled the show after 1 season, I think this scene should have given us Easter Egg Nods to (JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Members such as: EtrIgan The Demon, Shade; The Changing Man, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Deadman, Detective Chimp, Frankenstein, Phantom Stranger), it would have been cool to have seen Dr. Fate in The Arrowverse, but at least we have Pierce Brosnan's Dr. Fate (in The DCEU), Matt Ryan I think will become The Definitive John Constantine, i've got nothing against Keanu Reeves (great guy and great actor), it also would be cool if Sting portrayed an older version of Constantine (after all Sting was the Inspiration for John Constantine), shame they never brought any of the Easter Eggs seen in the House of Mystery nor the Characters from The Constantine TV Show back into The Arrowverse, especially Actors like Harold Perrineau (Manny The Angel), Lucy Griffths and Mark Margolis (Felix Faust), they would have benefitted from being part of the wider Arrowverse

So I've never seen the series before, only heard of it one or two times. Then I heard it got cancelled and just was curious to know why - like was it realy that bad to be cancelled after the first season ? I sat down, was like lets give this a try, can't be worse than mediocre .... and to my frikkin surprise Constantine isn't anything like mediocre - it's damn awesome. It is times more believable, fantasticaly written, well constructed and suspenseful than I've seen on either netflix and CW / CBS so far. Yes that includes the entire Arrow Verse and Daredevil. That is especialy ironic because the series is about the occult and magic. If you like Doctor Strange ( his scene in Thor: Ragnarok was fantastic ! ) you gonna love Constantine. Whatever the reason is for why it got cancelled, the quality of the show definitly is not the reason. I can highly recommend it to anyone, especialy fans of magic, occult mistery etc with a little bit of of horror and gore. It's just very *very* sad that there's only 13 episodes. The series could have gone on for a thousand episodes and I'd most likely still be invested in it.

Actually, this version of Constantine went on to appear in an episode of Arrow, "Haunted." He went on to be a recurring character in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3. He was a main character in Season 4. Then he appeared in "Crisis on Infinite Earths". Now he's back on Legends in Season 5. If you were curious to see what happened next.
