I worked for this man in 1986 for six months doing public relations and he was a total gentleman. I'm sorry to hear he is gone- he inspired me to move to Athens and learn Greek- I live in the UK now and often think about him, a real Aussie character.

Served him quite a few times as a waiter, working in the restaurant at the Oberoi Hotel back in the late seventies. He was always polite (no pun intended) with us servers, and left big tips. He smoked that huge cigar constantly, it stank the whole place out

He was a true gentleman of property. An indentity in Adelaide that many remember. A good man.

Con was a great man and was generous on the other hand he left his son Gorge in charge and he is ruthless completely the opposite and is that worried his sister will convince the mother that Gorge is ruining the family name/business that Gorge installed hidden cameras in the mother s house. This is a fact coz i know there maintenance ppl who have worked for this family since 1970. Its a shame Gorge is in charge now and is nothing but a spoilt brat.
