@@narisaam And it's been 103 years since He passed. It's about time we were able to build a fitting memorial to Him. This project is for the beautification of the area as well. 'Abdu'l-Bahá is still a beloved figure in that area, and people are thrilled that we are finally building this beautiful monument. With the increased number of pilgrims, it's just not practical to have Him interred in the Shrine of the Báb, which He never wanted and has always been considered a temporary location.

Israel does not even recognize the Bahai Faith as an official religion and you expect them to have 4 or 5 million Bahais to settle there? That is a wishful thinking. What is it good for Israel to do that?

I assure you, it has nothing to do with vanity. If they wanted His shrine to stick out, they could have made it much higher and more gaudy. It will be open to the public for prayer and meditation, and we never charge to visit our Holy Places. I think it's beautiful, and I would love to visit it once it's finished. I just hope I live long enough as I am getting up there in age.

So you would go against 'Abdu'l-Bahá's wishes? He didn't want to be buried in the Shrine of the Báb, and it has always been considered a temporary resting place. Sometimes we have to look at the whole picture. One more thing, when I went on pilgrimage in 2007, the last night we all gathered at the Shrine of the Báb for prayers. There were so many pilgrims they couldn't all fit inside. I had to stand outside myself. Once they make the renovations to the Shrine of the Báb, pilgrims will be able to enter from all sides and many more will have room to be close to His resting place in the middle of the 9 rooms. So this will be wonderful for our increased numbers of believers.

Bahá'u'lláh's teachings are for the benefit of society and the individual members of it. Sometimes that involves sacrifice. But in the end, the sacrifices we make to follow these teachings prevent a lot of heartache, illness, and trouble in our own lives and in the lives of others, little as so many today may realize it.

@@wendyscott8425 describe how not being gay or not having sex outside of marriage is beneficial to society? Repressing oneself will certainly not lead to happiness, and reinforces the idea that there is something wrong or unnatural about human sexuality. Can't buy into that one.

@@wendyscott8425 no, we don't. Relativism has no place in discrimination and abuse. If there is a religion that preaches homophobia or shame inducing teachings with regards to sex, I'm not ok with that. Imo, noone, no matter what religion should be able to discriminate based on sexuality. There is huge scientific consensus that homosexuality is completely natural and that humans are animals just like gay lions, whales, penguins etc. Plus, our biology suggests that we are actually built for multiple sexual partners. To live a life denying these facts is simply burying your head in the sand.

I agree, it’s to bad that I can’t even see what you are replying to or about. This came to me recently. “Only Jesus, only Him, Christ alone. That’s it, perfect wisdom.” The first part, without the “perfect wisdom” came to me and kept running through my head. I went to post it on X, and that’s when the “perfect wisdom”. Came out, because it is. Only Jesus, only Him, Christ alone. That’s it, perfect wisdom.

When I was a Christian, I studied the Bible carefully, especially the prophecies, but I found that my minister interpreted the Bible's teachings in a way that didn't make sense to me. At age 14, I left that church and was an agnostic. But then when I was 17, I heard about Bahá'u'lláh, and it all came together what those prophecies meant. I was thrilled! Our souls and the souls of God's Messengers all live on in the next world. And they all promised that they would return in some form. Jesus, for example, said he would come in the Glory of the Father with a new name and lead His followers into all truth they couldn't bear at that time. In 60 years as a Bahá'í, I kept studying the Bible as part of my Bahá'í studies. I still can't deny that Jesus' prophecies have been fulfilled, though not in the way many Christians are expecting. But isn't that always the way? Jesus wasn't exactly what the Jews were expecting either. You might ask yourself why the Bible has so many prophecies that the Bahá'í Faith fulfills if it is not the truth from God, including the year (1844 AD aka 1260 AH). Jesus said we could tell false prophets from true ones by their fruits: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I invite you to keep an open mind and do what Jesus said to do. Taste the fruits of Bahá'u'lláh to decide for yourself if they are good. I find them quite tasty myself! 😇
