The interlocking tile is a great product.. I used a similar product over on top of EPDM membrane. Worked out fantastic.

4:27 The “hassle of skills”. WOW. Probably could’ve worded that slightly better. Imagine calling building and having skills a hassle.

The problem with some of these products are that they are not within the building codes of other countries, especially American products, as they are imperial measurements.

This makes no sense. If it’s in mm, then I grab my tape measure and measure it myself. And figure out the measurements…. 🙄🙄🙄

It’s not an imperial vs metric issue. It’s about strength and load capacity using non-standard materials. Building codes are government regulations and, in North America, largely determined by the states and provinces independently. It’s a red-tape nightmare getting a new idea rubber stamped.

No mention of energy efficiency regarding the pre-cast product. Nothing about carbon footprint either (cement,inbodied carbon).

@@musonius.x not sure what you are comparing, "big slab" only reinforced concrete technology started in 1960s, pre-insulated concrete slabs providing insulated accommodation for temperatures well below -40degC started in 1970s. Double pane windows were fitted in my grandmother's apartment that was erected in 1948. "Big slab" technology allowed 4 storey 60 apartment buildings including basement and 3- 5 bedroom apartments 62-104m^2 to be erected in 3months from digging foundations. This technology provided energy requirement of 80W/m^2 which is better than modern houses build in the UK - 50 years later! These days no one is doing anything form big slab as the efficient building regulations require even U-value across the wall, thermal mass inside the building is required for heat pump application, a minimum 200mm of polystyrene external insulation and triple or quadruple pane windows. Our minimum acceptable standard heat requirement for a house since 2021 is 21W/m^2, passive type 2 -15W/m^2, passive type 1 -10W/m^2 and passive 0 -5W/m^2. Do not insult a superior technology you were not dreaming of half a century ago, tell us what you have had in 1970s? bricks and empty cavity walls, cardboard interior walls? condensation and black rot everywhere in the house in temperatures below 10degC and compulsory bleaching once a month? You must be one of those bigots who compare 1946 AKM design with modern 21st century AR15 platforms, or in general you are an idiot?
