Chonda, your story gives me hope. My daughter hasn't spoken to me for 20 years. She doesn't want any contact with me. She got married and now has a boy and a girl. I don't know my son-in-law nor my grandchildren. I admit I made a lot of bad choices when she was little and I own a lot of the blame. I've apologized to her and asked her for forgiveness. But yet, not yet. More importantly than my having a relationship with them is that they would come to know our Lord and have relationships with Him. I had the pleasure of meeting Chonda in California years ago at a venue that no one really knew her. It wasn’t a Christian event. They introduced her as a “Country Comedian”. As one of her biggest fans, with all of her DVD’s, it was such a blessing. I share so much of her experiences. Those hours with her are among my most memorable moments. I’m not a person who is a “fan” of famous people. But her? I was so honored to have a moment where others weren’t interested and I was gifted time with her. Love you dearly, Chonda. Girl, you have walked my path. Thanks for being so open. Being a Christian can really shut a person into an "image" prison. Saved 46 years and 25 years of AlAnon recovery and 20 years in therapy. It works if you work it. I crawled out of he'll into the light. God Bless you.

Our daughter with 6 grandkids hasn’t been in contact with us for 6 months. She told me why up front and just needed her space. But the longer it goes on the more I worry this will be for good. I try to not think about and focus on what God has given to me right now. I feel for you. I know I cannot wrap my head around the length of time you have endured this. Chonda, you are awesome! Your humor and truths have helped me through some rough times. Years ago God introduced me to you on Facebook. It was a video on the depression in your life. I was in awe of you, your talent, the fact that you are a Christian comedian and that you know the struggles of depression. There have been many hard nights that I have watched your shows and was able to make it to the next day. I admire you greatly. I always wanted to be a comedian but it wasn’t until God introduced you to me through Facebook that I discovered a Christian can have an awesome, positive, funny impact in the darkness of this messed up World. I got to go to see you in Belleville Il. in the mess of Covid but I never got to talk to you because of the Covid restrictions. I saved my ticket for eighteen months so I could be at your show. I am soooo glad I went. I appreciate you Chonda!

Chonda, you and I are the same age, and I'm dealing with the same behavior with my 32 year old daughter. We sent her off to college, and four years later, we got back a girl filled with bitterness and anger and easily offended about everything. She hasn't talked to us in years. Other than fighting for her on our knees, how else do we fight with a demon?

Ohh Chanda, my heart breaks for you, I took know the pain of estrangement, I'm 66 and my 3 grown children aren't in my life, 2 are addicts, my oldest one told me 7-8 years ago that I chose God over him, I still have no clue what that means, I have a bunch of health issues and could use some help but it's not to be, I too have grandkids that's been kept from me, as you know, only Jesus keeps us together, you're in my prayers 💕🙏🏼✝️📖

Gen X and Z do seem to have a warped attitude towards their parents. I’ve experienced issues with my daughters and one of my nieces has completely divorced our family. I’ve known so many people who have difficult relationships with their children. I don’t understand it.
