Thank you for sharing such an intimate part of your past. Having been in a shelter for battered women-when I was 21 (a LONG time ago)-this takes MEGA courage to speak about out loud. Most don’t realize what it takes to say your experiences and fears, to actually SAY them, let alone to strangers. Thank you. I just recently downsized. Not to a container home, but to a condo from a large 3 bedroom home. I literally got rid of 90% of my stuff! The move was a challenge and organizing all my things took a few months. I even got rid of more things after I moved in! But, the peace and tranquility, the decrease of upkeep, financial output and maintenance from my larger home has been so worth it. Kudos to this lovely lady and to all who have or have been contemplating living in a smaller space. Be brave! With some thoughtful planning, you can make it work. 😊

Bless you Sally! I love your home and I hope you find total healing from your trauma. Have you tried EMDR therapy? It helped me tremendously to move past a sexual assault when I was young that was still haunting me 30+ years later. Now I can talk about it and even think about it without much emotion. Prior to that, it felt like it was happening to me over and over again. Best of luck to you in your gorgeous tiny home!

You guys always feature beautiful people❤️. I LOVE her wall especially her grandkids pictures❤️She's such a brave mama and I am so proud of her accomplishments❤️she inspires me! I got a bit teary-eyed here. Her story relates with mine. I was also sexually assaulted in my own home by a very familiar person. It's been 21 years ago and I still can't sleep without lights on or at least a night light. I sleep better in the day especially when my son is already home from school. We have a dog and she sleeps with us often w/ me. I still have nightmares even in my day sleep.

Those containers are heavy, cool that they got it on wheels with decks better than most standard houses.

What an inspiration this woman is to me! For the first time, I might even consider going tiny. I was intrigued when she mentioned that she looked at how much space she used on a daily basis and that she didn't need all the space she had when she lived in a house. I too don't use all the space that I have.
