Having sat through more moderne dance performances than I care to count, I believe this to be a fairly accurate depiction. However, I find it to be missing two quintessential moves: rolling on the floor as if to put out a fire, and attempting to sit up from the floor but lack the energy to do it. Bravo!

Freaking hilarious. You crack me up! Last LA Dancers Forum at SAGAFTRA Nigel Lithoe went apesh*t about how SYTYCD contestants define "contemporary dance" as reaching out into the ether and looking dramatically into the distance. He was seriously pissed off about it. Still, he admitted that there's a difference between what is authentic and what sells television shows - so... you're a badass for being such a great dancer AND for making fun of the nonsense. Ha!
