Watching the guys work together got me thinking about what it must be like working for Foose. It would be cool to have the whole group do a Q&A on what do's and don'ts Chip requires and how well everyone gets along.

My only gripe with this is using a Chevy motor in a Ford car. I know for a fact that you could have put a really nice Ford motor in there.

The car is gonna be incredible, no doubt. But this comment is for the one creating the videos: your editing, especially with audio levels, has gotten so much better over the past year. Well done!

My uncle was a mercury collector who passed away about 20 years ago. He lived just south of Columbus Ohio about 15 miles on Duvall Road. He had I think three of these and dreams of restoring but age caught up if he was still around I would get these videos to him. I’ve enjoyed watching these. Reminds me of him. It's not only that Foose makes such fantastic automotive art and helps keep classics on customs around. It's also the motivation it gives others to do the same, even if slightly less perfect. Anytime I get something done on a project I ask myself, would Foose approve. :)

I've always been impressed when seeing cars Foose has worked on. His mantra to change it cleanly and make you doubt is "seen" in all aspects of his work. In some cases, things are clearly changed, in others, just massaged with finesse.

As for removing the top, I have mixed feelings. It does look good with the top off and will look even better when you chop it modestly. However, the Continental roof line is nothing short of iconic. The owner of this car should have the choice just as the early Thunderbird owners did. Yes, I am referring to a removable hard top that you can winch on or off in your garage. Please give this option some thought. It's not too late.

Would have been interesting to see a better engine trans combo than a cookie cutter LS 4L60.
@willieshaw2522
@willieshaw2522 2 ай бұрын
My feelings exactly. The LS is a sound engine package and a good choice for GM retrofits. But, given how common they are - why use one in a highly modified custom Ford based build? Show some creativity and put a Godzilla 7.3 in it - there is no good reason to use a boring LS in this project.
@v8packard

@@willieshaw2522 Sure, a 7.3 or 6.8. Or a 6.2 Boss dressed up like a SOHC. So many choices.

Damn, I was thinking there’s no way Foose would put an LS in one of the coolest Fords ever. Ruined what would’ve been a great car. Should’ve kept it a MEL engine.

I'm a Chevy guy and even I can't believe Chip and the owner agreed to put an LS in such a high-budget Lincoln (Ford) build! 🤢 There's all kinds of cool Ford engine options at this price point, why default to an LS??? 🤷‍♂

I still say the car lost it's personality when you cut the top off. That just made it easier for the builders.

As someone who has spent a lot of time around the Ford Y Block engine, seeing the fake T-bird valve cover on a Chevy was an affront. This deception was really way out of character for Foose Design IMHO. Clever but not the right thing to do.

With the amount of Money one spends on a custom like this, you would at least keep it Ford. I feel the same for GM and Chrysler. The typical reason you always hear is the Parts are more accessible, More Power per CI. Blah Blah Blah! You Guys do some excellent work and this rant is in no way a criticism of Foose and the Team. It just Pains me to say it's not a Ford without a Ford Motor.

Seeing these guys lifting that engine with a proper lift bracket is gratifying. I cringe every time i see someone lifting a engine by the carb studs in a aluminum intake.😢
