@@TheHairLossShow Can you do a video on brand Propecia vs generic Finasteride. I've heard that when a pill is generic it only needs to have the same active ingredient. All the other "filler" ingredients can be different and they are not tested. There is a general belief that these ingredients can interact over time and would affect potency. I was told this from someone who works for a pharma company who's job it is to test pills every year to ensure efficacy.

Most ethical surgeons wouldn't perform surgery unless you've already been on Finasteride for a while. You start to take it before the HT, not after

I am also post hair transplant 29 years old. My Hair is starting to really thin out now on the crown and front, I had the corners filled out on the transplant. I wish I saw this channel before I went thru with my transplant. My doctor never mentioned finasteride to me. I would have also went with a much more conservative transplant. All in all I am an avid fan of this channel and I have been using all of your incredible ideas! Thank you guys so much!!

@@kristoffnicholls also, dont make the mistake of trying to pack in your crown, especially u being young at 29. THE CROWN IS THE BLAK HOLE OF GRAFTS. unfortunately, your crown will continue to expand, but w/ fin, it will slow down the expansion. save all your donor hairs for your front and mid scalp. u should wiat to see how your crown progresses, especially now w/ the use of fin. u should also start browsing the hair restoration network. thousands of folks like u are on that site and there's myriad of important info for hair transplants, doctors to avoid, tattoo smp and other options. theres no need to rush and make the mistake countless others have done.

@@thegoat1514 hairline is coming back in. I’d say an inch to an inch and a quarter on each side have started growing in, could be more the longer I stay on it. The hairs are long and thin so waiting for them to get thicker and get color. No side effects so far

l have 5mg tablets too, l divide it to half and take half every other day,it means l take 1 full 5mg tablet in 4 days so fast its been 8 months and working very nicely no sides at all like zero

Has your hair thinned out completely? How many grafts was transplanted?

@@sudan9735 Probably altogether between 4000 and 5000 grafts. I'm not sure what you mean by "thinned out completely...?" I'd say I've lost about 20% of it so far. I started on finasteride and oral minoxidil 5mg a little over 2 months ago, can't see a lot of change so far, but I'm hoping it's too early...

@@sudan9735 I'm 66 right now... I think I had my first transplant at about 45. No, I have extremely fine hair and unfortunately as a result the transplants I've had have never completely covered all of my scalp, although I can say the they've certainly created more density (I was completely bald on top originally). I would say I started at a norwood 6 and now I'm at a 4. The thickness at the front/top is becoming increasingly thinner, and I had my third transplant about two years ago (about 1000 grafts, it ended up being a combination of FUT and FUE). My surgeon is now telling me that it's not uncommon that grafts don't last as long as he thought they did. Not sure what to believe. Thanks again for your responses. Would you say after two months it's too early at this point for me so expect to see any changes from oral minoxidil, or that at my age I won't see any changes at all? There have been virtually no studies on oral minoxidil with patients over 55 that I've been able to find online.

@@ratt57 i do believe 2 months is a lot earlier to give up, it generally takes 6 months to show descent results and now that you are 66 the thinning of hair in the donor area is natural to go through but most of the hairs may stay. It's great to know transplanted hair can withstand more than 20 years and kudos to your maintenance, did you look into trying topical minoxidil and finasteride for better results?

Yes it is, don't wrap it too tight and make sure the minoxidil is dried up into your scalp first otherwise you'll leave a greasy mess.

@@decidllano2157 No, same with caps. There's no evidence to prove this. Just theories people assume. If you're already losing hair and constantly wear a cap, you're probably gonna blame the cap for your hair loss forgetting that your genetics was the real enemy. Only finasteride can stop hair loss. Minoxidil too but Finasteride is miles better.

Its normal and is neither a good or bad sign but something that happens to a lot of people.

@@kylekeenan3485 Incorrect. I said it means he is responding very well. Some people do not respond to finasteride and need to upgrade to Dutasteride to stabilise hair loss. For most people finasteride will be enough regardless if they shed or not but if he’s experiencing shedding it’s a good sign that it’s working very well for him and won’t need stronger meds..

If you don't have a doctor, how are you be getting it? I'd be more worried about the quality of the medication...

@@mikeross111 Where I’m from prescription is not needed. I use a Turkish brand of the drug and so far no side effects. I’m in the shedding phase

Hey bro, I had hair transplant surgery 11 months ago and I started to lose the transplated hair but I;ve been told its because of Covid

@@mickyhouse8753 they told me the same thing....and asked me to do IGG test.... It's an antibody test My result came which was 1560 (range is 600-1600) U can have high antibodies if u have taken vaccine which is generally the case. These clinics are simply using this COVID as an excuse. Most probably they took hairs outside from donor area which are prone to falling off

​@@edge6192 I have still not taken the vaccine. I got my HT done in Turkey and I believe they took 2500 grafts from the back area. I've been itching my hair quite a lot and it sometimes gets inflammed, red and dry, I think this is the reason why my new transplanted hairs have fallen. I don't think they will return as I;ve noticed that those transplanted hairs gap is getting larger month by month. It seems my scalp is not accepting these newly hairs even after 11 months

@Samir Thamer 3mg is not near impossible to experience sides, studies say that this dosage has the same effect as 1mg a day (even these two doctors say that). i was on 3mg a week for two months and for watery semen and started to get gyno, which cannot be a placebo. Don’t underestimate the drug because some people can be very sensitive to it - although i recommend pushing through

Push through, it was the same for me , taking only 0.25 mg daily. After 2-3 months sperm returned normal, pain in the testicles/low abdomen went away , and libido back to normal... Also I noticed a great thickening of the hairs and also totally new hairs..
