Thank you for watching and your comment! I always appreciate the feedback. One of my favorite things is doing paint jobs and this one really pops against the jet black components on the bike for an absolutely beautiful color contrast. The color is very similar to the original color in the 1970 Harley brochure, but I greatly improved the depth and it’s a much better color shade while keeping true to the overall original paint color. I definitely agree, these vintage iron heads are definitely mechanical art especially compared to the plastic looking new bikes these days. I will do riding videos as well this summer so I hope you stay tuned. Take care!

Good video Michael. The late sixties and early seventies Sportsters are my favorite ones also. Good looking parts on that bike. The assembly videos are very good. You do good work. Saving that Sportster is worth it. Your videos are worth watching.

Thank you Joe, I always appreciate you watching and your kind comments. Yes, I did hand pick the best original parts I could find and store them away for this particular build. As you observed, there definitely are some very nice original pieces on this 1970 XLH. I’m very pleased you enjoy the assembly videos. I hope to get some riding videos in this summer as well. Take care Joe.

Thanks for your comment, I always like to hear from you guys and get your thoughts and feedback. I agree, the full chrome cover shocks are very nice and I would have used them on an early model Sportster but I also love the black springs as well on these later sixties, seventies models. Especially with the color contrast I have Gold and black that really pop and play off each other. I hope you subscribe and follow along as I continue on with both my stock vintage Iron heads. I will do some riding videos this summer as well on these bikes so I hope you stay tuned and let me know what your thoughts are. Take care!

Always liked the full chrome shocky covers on the older sportys , not period correct of course but that '70 is looking good.

Boy, I was cringing when you were putting that front wheel on, not strapped down, unless that engine lift was holding it up. That bike has turned out so nice, and i love the color.

Don’t worry big Ed, I had a sling tied to the engine hoist most of the build and a hard stop on the jack stand in case the hydraulics decided to let go. I know it looked a little scary but I had a Handle on it. Yes, that gold really pops and plays off the jet black items. It’s a great contrast. I just applied for the plate and sticker so it’s getting ready pretty soon. I still have a few things to address as usual. Take care Ed and thanks for checking in!
