The MEG also known as Madras Sappers is one of the combat Engineer Unit in the Indian Army along with the Bengal and the Bombay Sappers. The MEG is the oldest unit raised by the British 270 years ago!

Why do they march with heels first it is a totally unnatural way of walking - let alone marching.

Thats how armies of the world march n btw they have prcticed for days. Also right from your up bringing we all walk with help of heels sir. Just that the tip of heels are for marching

When marching we are taught to dig in the heels. There will be sound formed when all march in that way.

This is what old armies do. Serve no purpose. Time should have better spent to develop the army professionally.
